Pet care experience
I have been around family dogs since I was really young and as soon as I was able to I got my own, a now 45 kg Labrador retriever. I brought him here in the Netherlands for a few month but I had to make the decision to bring him back home with my family for health reasons. I miss taking care of him and I hope I will be able to look after some else’s pet. I love long walks, and occasionaly (if the dog can) runs in the nature, but also relaxing and cuddling in the house.

I have a fenced garden and, as I am used to taking care of my own dog, I keep dangerous objects and foods out of reach. Moreover, I opted for hosting dogs coming from one family at a time, to ensure a less stressful stay for the animal. I will treat your dog as if it was mine and make sure that is correctly being taken care of and treated as a dog, in my opinion, should be treated: regular walks, eating his own food, cuddles, adventures (off leash only in secluded areas or if the dog has perfect recall), not being left alone for too much time, mental stimulation, play time in the nature and get dirty. I generally avoid letting the dog play with other dogs that I don’t know.

Before being with the dogs I like to know: health issues, habits and things they usually do, eating habits, what kind of activity they do usually, what games they like the most, compatibility with dogs, fears and things to avoid.
A typical day
I will go on long walks in the nature where the dog can be on the leash (if well trained also off leash). As I used to have my dog here, I know a few spots, like parks, woods, beaches and so on where I can bring the dog to play, sniff around and have a good time. I will also play with the dog in my garden. If the dog’s breed and health allow it, as well as with the owner permissions, I can also take the dog on runs. At home, as usually the dog is tired from the walk, I let it rest or we cuddle on the couch and play.

Availability
I study at NHL STENDEN, but I usually do not have many mandatory classes during the week so I have plenty of time to take car of an animal. I also work for 2 days 4 hours during the weekends.
