Pet care experience
My roommate in college was a sitter on Rover. Everytime a new dog came over, we instantly bonded and I was able to help with their care. Now that my lifestyle allows me the freedom and time to be a sitter, it was a no brainer to sign up. I've been naturally good with dogs since I can remember. As cringy as it sounds, I've spent a lot of time trying to communicate with animals at their level. I've been the go to sitter for all of my family's dogs, some of which are difficult cases. I have experience with large, disobedient, erratic dogs, so not much phases me. I'm a big guy, so you won't have to worry about me losing control of your large breed. I've trained puppies and taken care of very old dogs. At the end of the day, I want to make sure your pet is as comfortable and entertained as possible, while respecting the training and boundaries you've established with them. With any luck, I'll have some fun, too!

I like to be very active with the pets I take care of, so we can do as much as your pet seems to want. I want to reduce the anxiety they have from missing their parent as much as possible, so it's important to me to keep them occupied and comfortable. It should feel like a vacation with Uncle Nick, in a way 😅 I'm happy to take long walks, to play fetch, even to go on hikes. Whatever their energy level is, I want them to get the exercise they need. We can even go to an enclosed baseball field and play fetch so they have as much room to roam as possible. I've learned that the first interaction is imperative when developing trust with an animal, and so I try to be as intentional and cautious as I can to let them know I'm a friend. I won't smother them if they don't want to be smothered, and I'll give them all the attention they ask for if they need some love. I want to create a feeling that your pet and I are just hanging out - not an environment where I'm just "taking care" of them.

A typical day
At minimum, I want to give your dog at least two substantial walks and one off leash exercise bout (dog park, baseball field, etc...). I like exploring new places as much as your dog likely does, so there will be plenty of novelty for them to experience. We can cuddle and play in the house as much as they want.

I am a professional musician, so when I'm not touring, I'm fully available. I don't have a regular job to rush off to, so your dog can be my biggest priority and receive regular care.
