Pet lover, local optimist!

Pet care experience

**I am now accepting bookings thru August 31st!** (For dates further out, please feel free to inquire about joining my waitlist.) Also, kindly read my policies below before sending a booking request. Thank you so much for your interest! — Non-smoker, non-drinker, dependable car and fully COVID vaccinated and multi-boosted. ✅ Hi there! I’m a life-long (10+ yrs) pet owner turned professional pet sitter/dog walker working in the Denver area. I’d love to meet you and your pets to determine if we’re a great fit. Here is a little about me. My experience: I have cared for over one hundred dogs, cats, reptiles, and other pets for 40+ clients using Rover. Please feel free to read some of those reviews here on my profile. I’m experienced at handing senior animals, puppies, kittens, special diets and routines, and am experienced and comfortable giving injection, topical and oral medications to pups and cats, including those who may not be so thrilled about taking it! For dogs, I live an active lifestyle ideal for dog walking and have experience caring for dogs of all sizes, those who don’t play well with others, and wrangling dogs who tend to “pull” their leash on walks. For cats, I am used to handling both indoor and outdoor cats, and have spent many years being paranoid making sure the indoor ones don’t get out, and the outdoor ones get in before bed. If you have any questions or are interested in booking me for a service, please send me a booking request! I offer all new clients a free meet and greet, so I’d love to meet you and your fur babies to discuss details and see if we’re a good fit. I look forward to speaking with you! Please keep reading for an explanation of my services and policies. — For House Sitting Clients (What to Expect): House sitting is all-day (including overnight) care for your pets and home while you are away. This includes both pet care (feeding, exercise, playing, medicine, love and attention) and home care (watering plants, taking out trash, bringing in mail, keeping things tidy). While at a house sit, I aim to be home at least 16 hours per day (usually longer), and to not be gone for more than 5 hours at a time. I always follow pet and home care instructions to the letter, and send (at minimum) daily updates with lots of pet pictures and a summary of how the day went! *****Important Policies on House Sitting***** 1) I have a firm three-night minimum for house sit bookings. 2) Single-animal households (i.e. only one dog or one cat) will incur an extra fee for house sits: $25 for a dog, and $10 for a cat. 3) I can only finalize house sit bookings if your plans are also finalized (i.e. no “holding spots” while you figure out your actual dates). You are still welcome to inquire, of course! 4) Very-high-energy animals or those with significant special needs may incur an extra fee. This is very rare, however, and we would of course discuss this before booking so there are no surprises. Thank you for understanding! For Dog Walking and Drop-in Visits (What to Expect): For these booking types, you are purchasing my time (either 30 or 60 minutes) and i am happy to provide any reasonable pet-related care (except for bathing) during this time. Time begins upon entering your home and completes upon exiting. For dog walks, i will do my best to do a full 30 or 60 minutes of walking, but it may be slightly less depending on how long it takes to get your pup ready (wrangling them, putting on collar/harness, retrieving doggy bags and treats, etc.). I will of course send plenty of photos and a summary of how it went afterwards! *****Please note***** For dog walks and drop-in visits, i will do my absolute best to come at the time indicated on our booking (and I usually do). However, i can only guarantee my arrival within an hour of the requested time (i.e. if you request noon, i will arrive between 11:00am and 1:00pm). Thank you!

Nick was incredibly responsible, attentive, and caring during my pet’s home visits. I highly recommend him as a sitter for your pets and he definitely gained a repeat client here!

Nick was a fantastic dog sitter for our older pup. He was fantastic with communication and very attentive to details. We would be happy to have Nick care for our dog again. Thanks Nick!

Nick was so amazing with our babies! With two dogs and three cats, he had his hands full, but he seemed to enjoy hanging out with them as much as we do ☺️ thank you so much, Nick, for the frequent updates and adorable pictures - it gave us great peace of mind while we were out of town!

Safety, trust & environment

Safety, trust and environment: I have been a digital nomad and full-time house sitter for nearly two years, so on any given day i am most likely staying in someone else’s home caring for their pets. The only way I am able to maintain this kind of lifestyle is by respecting the safety and cleanliness of the homeowner’s property (leaving it better than i found it), creating a loving environment for their pets, and proactively and consistently communicating with the owners themselves. I strive to achieve excellent marks in each of these categories for every client I take on. Note on my Availability Calendar: FYI - My availability can be found on the calendar on my Rover profile, and it is almost always up to date. However, the House Sitting calendar is a bit wonky in that it marks the first and last day of any sit as “completely booked,” (i.e. grayed out) even if i am available for most of that day. So if the dates you seek are all available except for one at the beginning or end, please feel free to still reach out as i may be available for part, or even most, of that day. Cancellation Policy: For house sitting and drop-in visits, I have a 7-day cancellation policy. This means you can cancel anytime for a full refund as long as it is more than seven days out from the start of the booking. If you need to cancel within seven days of the start of the booking, you will still get a 50% refund (the other 50% helps me cover the loss of income and the cost of finding last-minute accommodations if the cancellation was a house sit). For dog walking appointments, you will get a 100% refund for cancelling anytime before 24-hours before the start of the booking. Within 24 hours is a 50% refund. If you have any questions, please let me know!

Information Nick H. would like to know about your pet

If your pet has any special needs or requirements, please let me know so I can account for them. I’d also love to know about your pet’s temperament (personality, energy level, how they are around people and other pets, if applicable), so that I can adjust our activities accordingly.

A typical day

I always try to make sure the dogs and cats I care for are thoroughly exercised. That means playing with them at home, and for dogs, rotating the neighborhoods we walk through and doing big outings at the park. Depending on the dog and neighborhood, I may also take them on a longer hike.
