Pet care experience
My love for dogs began when my family got a Miniature Schnauzer puppy when I was 15 years old. My brother and I absolutely loved our dog, so when I graduated from college in Vermont I decided to get a dog for myself. I brought Aspen home when she was just 7 weeks old and haven't looked back since (except at cute puppy photos of course). Since then, we've traveled the country to ski and climb some of the most remote and beautiful places in the world. Aspen, now 3 years young, does great off-leash and loves playing with other dogs no matter the breed or gender.

Nick is one of very few people that I would trust with my German Shepherd, Bear. Nick has experience handling a drivey, high-energy working dog (his Husky, Aspen) as well as watching and walking countless other dogs of all breeds and energy levels. Nick's interest in the outdoors and love for dogs makes him a great candidate for watching YOUR dog :)
Nick is FANTASTIC with dogs. It's obvious that he loves every dog he meets, and every single time I've seen him interact with a dog, he does so with care and compassion. I have a very anxious rescue pup, who lets *almost no one* pet her. She literally scurries away from people when they try to touch her—but not Nick! He's one of the few people who's been able to win her trust, and I just wish I could convey how HUGE of a deal that is through this review. Trust me, your pup will be in the best of hands with Nick!
Nick has been a friend of mine for a while and as long as I've known him he's been a dog fanatic. Not only does he love every dog he meets but you can tell how much care he has for dogs with the way he acts with his own pup Aspen. Nick makes it a priority to get Aspen outside as much as possible and makes sure she has the best life possible. Not only is Nick great with animals but he is extremely trustworthy and organized. I would let him care for my pup in a heartbeat!
You won't find a better duo than Nick and Aspen--Nick is SO great with dogs and I've never seen anyone more attentive and kind when it comes to our four-legged friends. I've seen him raise his own little pup, Aspen, from when she was just a tiny little thing, and he has been nothing but loving towards her. He goes above and beyond when it comes to her happiness and quality of life, and I know he will do the same for your dog. I used to dog sit for Nick when he first got Aspen and he is awesome to work with. I never had any issues with communication about how to care for her, when to pick her up/drop off, and he was always responsive if I had a question during the day. You're in good hands with Nick, and Aspen makes a killer playmate for any dog!

I have a fenced in yard, there are multiple dog parks nearby, and plenty of local parks to go for walks or runs. There are also hiking trails in the area for dogs that prefer adventuring in the woods or enjoy off-leash fun.

A typical day
A typical day for myself and Aspen includes a morning walk through the local park before breakfast and a walk again after dinner. During the middle of the day she gets tons of time to play in the backyard or we will go to a dog park if we aren't skiing or climbing that day. We also love going on hikes such as Royal Arch at Chautauqua Park in Boulder.
