Experienced Vet Tech
Pet care experience
I have been a pet owner my whole life, and transitioned from a hobby pet owner into an animal scientist now working on a graduate degree. Working as a vet technician for over 5 years exposed me methods necessary to approaching a situation, and addressing the steps required. Whether it’s stepping into an exam room to help with an anxious Doberman or walking 200 dogs on Christmas morning, I enjoy connecting with animals and honing in my own personal techniques. At home I have a rescued Corgi and two cats, along with countless enclosures and aquariums. I have been trusted to care for professors and veterinarians own dogs, and take care of the school’s animal exhibits and displays. My experience dealing with a variety of animals have taught me how to adapt to different requirements that different pets have. I have made bonds with anxious pit bulls, hesitant Rottweilers, and high-strung Sheep Dogs. I am also comfortable with pocket pets and exotics like snakes and lizards.
Reviews
Nick did a great job!
Nick was great with all 4 of my dogs. He was on time for all drop-ins and sent pics of the dogs which were greatly appreciated. Highly recommend!
Did excellent with my dog! Would highly recommend!
Nick was reliable and took great care of my wild dogs. I have some very poorly behaved dogs and he had no issue with them. He also was extremely professional and communicated well with me about how my dogs were doing

My pets at home are microchipped and are put on a leash whenever we go outside, even if its just going to the mailbox. I am able to crate dogs and wrangle cats, and can also deal with anxious or fractious animals.
Information Nick B. would like to know about your pet
I like to know the animals normal routine at home, including favorite toys and blankets or certain behaviours to watch for. Upon initial meeting I am able to get the animal comfortable with my presence and quickly form a bond with any animal.
A typical day
I like to take dogs out on neighboorhood walks, and am happy to let them lead the way with their nose until their satisfied. I'm very willing to lay on a couch with them and get as much hair onto my pants as possible .

Availability
I’m currently a graduate student at Auburn University, so I am flexible to fit any schedule. I work outside doing field work, so walking dogs during the hot summer months isn’t something I shy away from. Please note that individual dog bookings will be an adjusted rate.
