Pets Love Me, You Will Too

Pet care experience

While profile says that I have 20 years of experience, really I've been around dogs my entire life (often watching family, neighbors, and friends pets while they are gone as well as owning my own). I like to make a relationship with the pets I watch and am very responsive to their body language. Just like you and me, your pup has needs and I aim to fulfill them when you can't. Whether that be giving them diabetic shots, going for walks, play time, or even over nights visits. I've worked with all of it. I do positive reinforcement and clickers more than any other forms of training but will always make sure to follow your instruction on how you care of them first since you know them best.

I enthusiastically recommend Nichole for your pet care needs! When I first contacted her a couple of months before needing her house/dog sitting, she listened attentively to the challenges my dog Raha had in bonding with a different previous dog sitter (he had refused to eat, drink, go outside, or have the leash put on him for two days and I was a very worried mommy!). But this time, by the time I left town, Nichole had bonded with him over walks and play sessions and he easily accepted her when she came to stay at my house and take care of him for a week. He can be a picky eater when his settings or people change but Nichole was careful to understand his feeding routine and follow it like I do. She sent videos showing Raha playing with her just as he does with me and smiling! I was able to rest easy knowing Raha was in good hands. Thank you Nichole!

Nichole was great with my two cats - she stayed for nearly 4 weeks while we were out of town and befriended the cats quickly, and helped continue their work of becoming more comfortable and social. She was respectful and quickly helped with any issues that arose around the house. She made sure all interactions between her very well trained dog and our cats were positive. Would use her services again!

Nichole was thorough in our Meet and Greet. She asked all the right questions and several I hadn’t considered. She was professional in her business and kind in her care of my pup. I received photo and video updates during my dog’s stay. I recommend Nichole!

Safety, trust & environment

Every owner has different rules that they go by for their animals and I want to stick to that as much as possible. These are just a few ways that I take care of my own dog and is my base line of care for yours unless you say otherwise. Walks and Safety I want to emphasize that my priority is safety above all else. Whether that be in my home, at yours, or somewhere inbetween, I am always keeping an eye out to stop encounters before they ever start. When those encounters are unavoidable though (ie a dog off its leash or a wild animal) I keep a tazer on me during every walk. Just the sound of it will usually scare them off but it also works great for defense. Of course if you're uncomfortable with that, I also have pepper spray that I can change it out for. I also know how to break up dog fights if ever something happens but luckily I've never had to put the knowledge to use. It's just good to know. At your home It's been my experience that pups do better in environments they know well so when it comes to house sitting or drop by's, I treat your home as if it was my Grandma's (trust me, she is the sweetist woman in the world until you disrespect her home). That includes leaving the place better than I found it. When away I prefer to keep dogs in their kennel incase of accidents when I'm not around, however, I know a lot of people that let their dogs free roam. I'm ok with that so long as you are.

I need to know the answer to these questions first before I will accept a booking. Usually, I will ask these questions during the meet and greet but if you can get that info to me beforehand even better. 1) Do they have any transmissible diseases or fleas/ticks? 2) Do they have any kind of aggression (biting, resource, toys, chase, etc.) or arousal habits (humping, etc.)? 3) What is their energy level like? If high energy, what is your routine to work it off? 4) Does your pet pull on walks? 5) Are they destructive at all and to what extent (digging holes, chewing, etc.)? 6) (boarding) Do your pets bark and to what extent (home alone, at strangers, door nocking, all the time, etc.)? 7) Do they have places on their body that they don't like to be touched or have any triggers? 8) Is there anything special about your pet that you want me to know about?

A typical day

Usually, our day begins with a quick potty break around the yard and breakfast. After that our day is pretty much determined by the weather. I like to drive to the natural areas to play in the lake and hike the trails or I'll take advantage of the Frisby course near my house and spend some time exploring. On days we want to stay closer to home, we'll walk the neighborhood and take different paths around the block to keep things interesting. The rest of the day pretty much consists of sporadic play time, belly rubs and naps until its time for bed or time to go home.

My schedule is pretty full right now but my availability will be opening up more come December. I will be working part time and will be out of the house apx 4-6 hours on days that I work. When or if I need to do something while watching your pets (grocery shopping or errands mostly), I typically keep things to only a few hours or bring them along with me depending on what I'm doing or where I'm going.
