Pet care experience
I’ve cared for dogs of various breeds and sizes, from cocker spaniels and pomeranians to labs and pit bulls. I’ve also had a few kitties throughout my life with my current kitty having been my closest companion for the past 11 years. In addition to playing a major role in the care of my family’s pets with daily walks, routine feeding times, and grooming/cleanup, I also had pets with major health conditions including epilepsy, kidney issues and arthritis, which meant that I helped to make sure that they took their daily medications and was always alert to anything that may trigger or worsen their conditions. I’ve also had lots of experience taking care of puppies and senior dogs and tending to their special needs - whether that be extra play and clean up for younger pups or slower strolls, extra attention and affection for pets with separation anxiety, and assistance going up and down steps for older dogs. I’m also known to openly chat with furry companions and show lots of affection.

I also have a large partially fenced yard that makes taking pups who need frequent potty breaks or extra space to run around a bit to play super simple. You know your furry companion best! So if there are any specific needs or instructions, I will happily follow. Please share any special needs your dog may have, and I will make sure to accommodate them to my fullest ability. I have lots experience with dogs and cats of all ages and various needs, so I feel very confident in my ability to fulfill special requests such as administering medications or providing physical assistance in instances where your pet might have limited mobility. Also, if you’re in the process of training your dog to avoid certain habits or behaviors, please let me know so I can do my best to maintain and reinforce your efforts.
A typical day
I always make sure to tend the pet’s overall well-being - physical, mental and emotional. I do this with pets, playtime, and walks (depending on the age and physical ability of the dog) around the neighborhood in areas that aren’t too bustling and don’t have very much traffic. I live in a great neighborhood with plenty of smells and sights to explore as well as a couple of cute parks, including Washington Park and Wallace Park which a dog run for pups to roam safely. If your dog or kitty has any favorite toys, I love to include those during play.

Availability
I currently work from home during the standard work week with 2-4 meetings scheduled throughout the mornings. My schedule is pretty flexible especially toward late morning and afternoon, so squeezing in time for play and pets and going out for a few walks throughout the day is very easy and doable.
