Big or Small, we love 'em all! We started using in home dog sitting services a couple of years ago so that we could make sure, while we were on vacation, our dogs were well taken care of. We decided to do a search for alternate boarding resources because, it just didn't sit well with us that our dogs would be confined to a kennel, in a potentially stressful environment, while we were out having a good time. We knew that in order for us to thoroughly enjoy our vacation, we had to know our pets were just as comfortable as we were. In home dog sitting services gave us that reassurance so, in return; we decided to open up our home. Our home has a medium-sized, fenced in back yard that your dog(s) will have access to at all times. The exterior door leading from our laundry room has a built in pet door that allows dogs to enter and exit our home at their leisure. (If your dog is unfamiliar with using a doggie door, we will train them. Most dogs get the hang of it with in the first couple of minutes.) We promise a kennel free environment allowing your dogs to have free run of our home. They are welcome to sleep in our bed and will be loved as if they were our own. (We guarantee oodles of belly rubs and back scratches too!) Weather permitting, we like to take the dogs for long hikes and even swimming at a nearby lake. We have a pup-mobile set aside specifically for all our dog outings. If you are comfortable with us transporting your dog(s) and allowing him to go "off campus", this is certainly something your dog can enjoy during his stay. As a courtesy, pictures/videos will be sent to you daily so you can see just how comfortable your dog is while he is under our care. Our dogs love meeting new friends. They grew up in a doggie day care, have never met a dog they didn't like and actually enjoy showing new dogs around our home. In no time at all, your dog and ours, will become the best of friends. If you are looking to leave your fur-baby with someone who will love and care for them (and you) with compassion, knowledge, integrity and stellar accommodations, then Nichol is the petsitter you should choose! She sent frequent texts and picture updates while we were away which made for a completely stress-free vacation. She loves your dog like her own and they quickly sense that and feel right at home! I cannot say enough good things about the care she gave our dog Kodi?❤️?! She not only is a dog person, she is a people person and is delightful to work with! Thank you Nichol! Nichol was fantastic. She took such great care of our Max. He has some health issues that need a bit of attending too and she made sure that he was taken care of and up to date on his medication. I received photos and text messages throughout the entire weekend I was way. I will definitely be sending Max back in the future.
I seriously cannot say enough great things about Scout's stay with Nichol. My husband and I were traveling for a 9 day out-of-state vacation and I was very nervous to leave him with someone I didn't know. From the moment I arrived, her and her husband were so welcoming and genuinely excited to keep him. She sent regular updates with photos and even took him to the lake with the other canine houseguests for a swim. Her house was super dog friendly and the fenced backyard was great for Scout to wrestle with his new canine friends and play fetch (they were playing before I even left). Nichol definitely treated Scout like he was one of her own and was a total natural. I think he even had more fun on his vacation than we did and he was sad to leave when I picked him up. I had zero concerns about Scout while we were away and would definitely recommend Nichol to anyone looking for a sitter. Thanks so much Nichol!!!

We are very hands on dog owners. We travel with our dogs, "talk" to our dogs and spend all our free time with them. We are extreme home bodies, so our dogs get a lot of human love and attention. We like to take our dogs on hikes, swimming at a nearby lake and enjoy taking out the dog toys and playing with our dogs as most people would their children. Your dog will receive the same love and attention here at The Ruff Life as we give our own. We are constantly aware of the safety of the environment when walking our dogs, while they are in our home and while they are either inside (or out of) our fenced in yard. We make sure to see other animals, children or cars before our dogs do so that we can prevent potential accidents from occurring. We never leave food out and always separate dogs when feeding. We keep our home clean and our pets clean. So, if your dog stays with us 3 nights or more, we promise to give him a complimentary doggy bath before your arrival. That's just one less thing you'll have to worry about when you get home :)
