Pet care experience
Hello! My Name is Nerea. I am a Secondary School teacher. My second superpower is connecting with animals, especially with dogs! I grew up with animals around me, and that was a blessing. When I was 18 I volunteered in two animal rescue centres, rescuing wild, farm and domestic animals and hosting them, making quarantine, treating wounds and providing medication when needed, and teaching basic behaviour to dogs before being given to their adoption houses! That definetely shaped my life, my love and respect for animals' life. I feel I connect with animals like a magnet! And they give me as much as I try to give them in return. I am not an official trainer but during my volunteering years I had the opportunity to learn from experienced colleagues and got some experience with puppy, young and senior cats and dogs, some of them suffering from rough play, separation anxiety, fear to noises, chase after moving things, jump up on people and other issues.

Nerea is a woman of nature. Friendly, compassionate, and loving towards all animals of which she had many throughout the years - both small and large. It's quite extraordinary really, as wherever she goes she just attracts the 'lesser siblings' like a magnet. They somehow instinctively know they will get unconditional love from her. Love that she readily and plentifully shares.

I discuss the needs of the animal beforehand and I adapt to the owners' routine as much as possible so the animals' experience is pleasant and exciting but not overwhelming or confusing. I love when animals are open to be cuddled, but I respect their personal space if they prefer so.

Please, let me know if there is any medication, allergy, behaviour, incompatibility that I need to take into account when being with your pet. Also, tell me all about their likes so I can pamper them properly!
A typical day
I enjoy going to Aberdeen parks (Duthie, Seaton, Hazlehead), to the woods (Kirkhill, Tyrebugger) and to the beaches around. My typical routine on a Saturday/Sunday is waking up early, around 8 and going for a long walk or a run, much better with company! After using part of the energy, it is time for toys! Make sure that you bring their favourite toy so we can have a bit of fun! I'll make sure that your dog meets some friends in the park before coming back home. I love high energy demanding dogs because one of my passions is hiking! If your dog needs really long walks, that will make me really happy, we could spend several hours in the hills. At home, I like to hide treats in boxes with paper so pets have to use their skills to find the treat! We can chill and use my garden in case there is still some energy needed to be released before going for another walk and bed time.

Availability
Weather conditions allowing it, I love spending the day light hiking or in parks having long walks on my own or with friends (who also petsit!) If you are looking for a long boarding, you need to know that I am a full time teacher, so I will only accept dogs that won't struggle being at home 9 am to 4 pm while I am away. Please, take this into account before offering me a job or a meeting.
