Pet care experience
I’ve been pet sitting dogs for the last few years now. I have done extended home stays and also drop-ins. First off, I will walk your dog for ages and ages. I have watched many high-energy pups who could spend days walking if they were allowed to, and I’ve been happy to oblige them at least a few hours. I’ve also watched dogs who have needed to take medication and I’m happy to keep them on their schedule. I have mostly watched mid-sized, adult dogs, but I have pet sat for a few smaller ones as well. I have just moved here from NY and back at home, I was doing a lot of word of mouth pet sitting for many people. Hope to meet your furry friends soon!

I’m happy to make sure your pets are comfortable and feel secure. I don’t want to mess up the routines they are used to, so I will stick with whatever schedule you keep them on for food, walks, etc. I’ve done home-stays where the pets have been very anxious unless someone is there sleeping with them and I’ve had no problems with keeping them company in their usual beds/rooms. If they take medications and are used to doing so a certain way or a certain time, I can absolutely do that. If you need me to get mail for you while I’m there or grab newspapers, I have done so quite a bit for people and I’m happy to make sure the rest of your house is secure, along with your pets. I’ve even watered plants for people while dropping in!

Let me know if your dog has any behavioral quirks or needs. I also have arthritis, so I do like to know if any bigger dogs I’m watching tend to excitedly pull on their leashes or regularly jump after squirrels or other dogs, as my left arm doesn’t work as well as my right and it can be difficult for me to reel them back in if I’m not expecting it.
A typical day
I will make sure we get a long walk in and check out all of the local sights and smells. We’ll finish with some playtime with their favorite toys!

Availability
I work part-time remotely on a freelance basis, so I have plenty of flexibility to check in on your babies. I try to keep my Sundays clear, but I am available the rest of the week. I am open to doing shorter home-stays (2-3 days), as long as I can have time to come back to my home during the day to take care of things as needed!
