Hello, I'm Nela! 🐾 About me: - I have cared for and have experience with a wide variety of animals - dogs, cats, hedgehogs, horses, cows, guinea pigs, crested geckos, fish/aquariums, turtles, the list goes on. Living in the suburbs of Chicago, I currently mainly work with dogs & cats of all types and sizes. I grew up with a Bichon Frise pup named Florian who stays at my parents' home. I also have two pretty kitties, Lil Miss & Chunk. As well as a crazy smart German Shepherd/Husky named Luna Bear who I train consistently and effectively. I am currently a student studying Elementary Education & ESL/Bilingual Learning - my schedule is flexible. I'm graduating June 2025, in which afterwards I plan to stick around in the area for a while, in case you're looking for a long-term sitter relationship. Adopting a 1-year-old rescue pup German Shepherd/Husky from a shelter has taught me quite a few tricks and training methods. I will assure you your pup is in safe, strong, experienced hands. I know how hard it can be to find the appropriate pet-sitter. - I've worked as a vet-tech assistant at an animal hospital primarily helping out administer medications/shots, calm/hold down animals during exams and procedures, and general animal care such as walking, feeding, and cleaning. Since I've been a kid, I've always had interest in animal health and behavior. With my own pets I am an overprotective mom who takes all safety measure to the next level because that's what it takes to prevent disaster in pet care. Under my care, your animal is safe guaranteed. - I am very familiar with at home health care for cats. We have had 2 older cats pass away this past year. Both required intensive at home treatment for months with subcutaneous fluids, liquid/pill medication, special food diets, hand feeding with syringes, and 24/7 care. More specifically, I am very familiar with Kidney & Heart disease in cats, as well as undiagnosed treatment plans. - I spent around a year working for a privately owned dog sitting company where I learned the ins and outs of what it takes to be a professional and accomplished pet-sitter.
