Pet care experience
*In addition to the Rover Guarantee, I am privately insured by Pet Care Insurance.* My name is Nell and animals are the biggest part of my life, both professionally and personally. My husband Raul (who is also a Rover sitter!) and I just relocated to Raleigh from New York City with our three rescue cats and cockatiel. I have an AAS in Equine Studies and a BA in Sociology. In addition to pet sitting, I work remotely for a national hunger relief nonprofit. I have experience as a dog walker and as an animal care technician at the ASPCA in New York City, as well as experience working with equines and farmed animals. At this time I am only providing services for cats and exotics/pocket pets. Small dogs considered on a case by case basis! A note on Covid-19: I am happy to say that I am fully vaccinated and boosted! I am still wearing a mask at all Meet and Greets and key pick ups, and ask that all potential/current clients do the same. I have a few policies that clients should keep in mind: -I do not perform services if other people will be in the household when I arrive to care for your pet. This is due to my personal safety and liability concerns. -For liability and safety reasons, I must be the only one caring for your pet during the length of services. Meaning, I cannot share the care of your pet with another sitter, family member, neighbor etc. -I require Meet & Greets with all potential clients. For this reason, last minute requests are difficult but I will always try my best! -I will not let cats outside of your home during the length of my stay, and will only let cats out in fully enclosed balconies. Nell is wonderful - we highly recommend her for cat sitting! We've booked her twice now to look after our cat Arthur. She's easy work with, very responsive, and always sends great photos and updates. We've been able to relax when we're away knowing that Arthur is in such good hands.
Highly recommend! Nell has been wonderful with my pet during our first two appointments and gives thorough and entertaining updates each visit, helping put my anxiety of leaving my cat alone for a period of time at ease. I know Nell takes great care of her while I'm away and has been accommodating to any special asks or details as we plan the visits, not to mention she sends plenty of fun photos!
Nell is our go to pet sitter. Our cat loves her and we know he’s in great hands. She gives him his inhaler, provides great pictures, and a thorough update on how things went. highly recommend!
Nell was absolutely AMAZING!!! I honestly cannot recommend her enough! My cat Felix has bad anxiety and since she does not take too kindly to strangers, I have been very reluctant to hire a pet sitter. After messaging Nell through Rover, I knew she would be a good fit. She was extremely thorough and compassionate, and I could tell she had experience with anxious kitties. We talked through a plan on how to ease into their initial introduction so that we all felt safe. Nell was careful not to infringe on any of Felix's boundaries as to not scare her away (a skill that only a true cat whisperer possesses!!). During their initial introduction, I could tell right away that Felix trusted Nell. She sent me a detailed Rover Card after every visit, and I was ECSTATIC to hear how well they were doing while I was away. I cannot express what a blessing it is to have someone I trust to take care of Felix when I am away. Thank you SO much, Nell!!

During my drop-in visits I will feed, water and clean (litter boxes, cages, sweeping etc.) I always make sure to leave time for playing, cuddling or simply hanging out with your cat depending on what they would like to do. All cats are different and I let them show me what they are comfortable with.

If your cat has any behavioral concerns please let me know prior to the Meet and Greet. I am unable to care for cats with a history of stalking and overt aggression. I also need to know any previous or on-going medical concerns, or allergies. I require that all my clients are up to date with vaccinations and exams.
A typical day
I love playing with my cat clients! I make sure to ask clients about favorite toys so I can bring them out and play once chores are done. If your cat doesn't like to play, cuddling or just hanging out are always good too. At the end of each drop in visit I will give you a detailed drop in card with photos and I will let you know what I did specifically to care for your pet, if they did anything adorable, or if anything seems off.

Availability
My current hours are: Monday - Friday: 7am-11am, and 4pm-7pm. Saturday-Sunday: 7am-12pm, and 4pm-6pm. I typically give clients a 2-3 hour timeframe for my visits. At this time I am unable to promise exact times unless required for medication. Providing care for clients' pets is more than just a side job for me. I genuinely love what I do and I love meeting people who are as passionate about their animals as I am about my own.
