Pet care experience
I started dog walking and bathing for neighbors at age 12. As an adult I have owned a couple Weimaraners, a Great Dane, a Dalmatian and a couple of rescue dogs along with several cats and a variety of small animals. I curently have my second Miniature Schnauzer. I have always enjoyed working with my dogs and have taken classes and, as appropriate, joined groups for socializing, obedience, retrieving etc..
Reviews
Neil was absolutely amazing with Jake. He is still a puppy and very high energy and Neil gave Jake a very loving stay and looked after all his needs. We will 100% use Neil again.
JJ hasn't said how much he enjoyed staying with Neil but he didn't seem to want to leave. I guess that's a good indicator it was a very successful stay. Neil is very knowledgeable about dog training and working with dogs. JJ was a little more responsive to my commands than he was before so that's encouraging. Overall I think it was a great stay over.
We had the best experience with Neil! It was our almost-1 year old puppy’s first time away from us, so we really didn’t know what to expect, but he was super understanding and helpful. We got great feedback from Neil the whole time, pictures, videos and notes on how she was doing. She settled in well and had a great experience! I appreciate his approach to dog care and training - he’s very patient and kind. Neil really understands dogs. Would recommend 100%!
So appreciative of Neil's care and attention for our furry family member. Wonderful daily updates.

My dog is a great joy to me and the primary focus of most days as are any guest dogs. I do my best to provide a safe environment and use no herbicides or pesticides on my property. Any toys or treats I have for Scamp (which your dog may have access to) are from manufactures and countries with no history of unsafe products. When dogs are in the dog yard, I am out side too. Depending on the dog, I may run in for a minuet but other wise your pet is always supervised. I wait until I am familiar with your dog before mowing, or doing yard work while they are in the dog yard. Your dog is never left alone even for a short time until I'm reasonably confident they will be ok. My dog management is based on consistency and follow through. My methods are always non punitive. The most severe I get is to hold the dog and speak sternly. I do this for Scamp and my pleasure. I only accept friendly, totally house trained and reasonably otherwise trained dogs. Meet and greets are always required before I will accept a dog. Vaccinations and an effective method of flea and parasite control are required. My property is 2.5 acres as are all my neighbors. I back on to 350 acres of fields. The property is 3/4 fenced with steel farm fencing with the front unfenced. I live on a very quiet country road with maybe a car an hour. I have dogs that are well known to me that I will play fetch with "out back" but all other dogs are kept on a lead if not in the dog yard. I'm not as active as I once was but my routines and activities are suitable for an active smaller dog. I accept larger dogs and they get adequate exercise. Those I can play fetch with get more than ample exercise. For dogs that are not reasonably leash trained, I will decide, based on any risk to me, whether I will attempt to walk them or just play in the dog yard. I make provisions for smaller dogs like snowshoeing paths through deep snow. I will only accept one new dog at a time. based on the information the owner provides and the Meet and Greet I may take a second dog that's familiar to me

Information Neil B. would like to know about your pet
For a 24 hour day:, $50 first dog $45 second dog and $40 for a third dog. Hours over 24 are $6 for each dog to a maximum of the daily rate. Drop off and pick up times are flexible but I need exact times. you are to provide adequate food to cover any possible delays and appropriate small reward treats. I use these to reinforce behaviours.. I always require a dog to followed a command before giving a treat. Please also send favorite toys, chew sticks etc and things to remind them of home like a towel, blanket or bed. I will provide a hand out at the Meet and Greet with more information.
A typical day
Out to the "dog yard" at 6am. then breakfast and quiet time till about 9 when we go for a walk around the property. (or play fetch) Depending on the weather we may spend hours at a time in the dog yard or have frequent shorter outings. I have my kitchen and sitting room separated by a baby gate. This is where we spend most of our time. The sitting room opens onto a large gated deck with steps down to the dog yard. I spend time either sitting on the deck or floor of the sitting room so that even big dogs get lap time.

As much as possible I provide 24/7 care and supervision. I'm retired and up early. Dogs are let out into my "dog yard" at about 6 am. The "dog yard" is fenced and about 1600 sq ft.. Walks around my 2.5 acres are about 9am and 4pm.about every 4 hours until about 9 pm dogs are supervised in the dog yard. I shop weekly for about 3 hours. I plan shopping, appointment and tasks like lawn mowing around the needs of, and my familiarity with, guest dogs.
