When I take care of other’s cats in my home I prefer to have them prepare their cats food ahead of time because switching foods even for one day can upset their stomach, but if that’s not available I have my own adult dry food I use, and I keep them in my bedroom with my cat if they’re cat friendly or if not I keep my cat closed off from my room and stay in there with the cat with a cat bed, toys, places to climb, jump, explore around, and even just sit and watch the room from above. When I take care of cats at others houses I prefer they have food, toys, etc. When taking care of dogs at others houses I prefer a fenced in yard for going to the bathroom and for playing and letting out to go to the bathroom or a premapped out walking path that is good to bring them on (leashed) walks.
