¡mi casa es la casa de tu perro!

Pet care experience

Hey my name is Nate! Way back in March of 2020, I and a couple hundred other people were evacuated from Madagascar due to Covid-19, as were all of the other Peace Corps Volunteers across the globe. Since then I've been able able to canvass for voter outreach in Georgia but a lot of my time has been spent stuck at home! :( To be honest I can't believe I haven't thought about Rover before this; I live in a great house with a great yard, have a ton of free time, and am super passionate about animals. Here's my history: I've had a pet for practically all of my life. Growing up, I had 3 cats and a Golden Retriever so I was able to learn the basics of pet care from a young age. As an adult, my family took in a beautiful golden retriever puppy! (my childhood golden passed a few years prior). Because I lived at home during her critical puppy years, and because I was stuck at home during Covid, I was able to garner a greater appreciation of what caring for a dog (or any pet) means. My dog now (turning 3 in September!) is no longer a pet but a friend who I've grown up with, played with, hiked with, and trained. I want to share my love for animals, my passion for their well-being, my excellent dog rearing skills, and my own dog (if you want!) with my local community. I am looking to move out of state by the beginning of next year. However, during the time I would like to share my free time and space with people who need to drop their dogs off with a caring and fun dog owner. I can take your dogs for walks, dog sit at your house, or bring out my dog as well for socialization! My dog is the most zen, chill dog I have ever met in my life. Most likely, she will be friendly with or ignore your dog depending on her mood. Generally speaking, dogs get along with her. If you have a male dog, they may get handsy with her. My dog is neutered so I don't mind, I usually just separate the dogs if it's happening too much.

I have rarely meet anyone who cares as deeply about dogs as Nathan. His approach with his own dog is a beautiful mix of being affectionate and firm. As a result, that dog is happy, extremely well trained, and clearly very well loved.

I have never met anyone who spends more time with their dog than Nathan. He takes his dog everywhere. He's constantly going to the dog park, training her, taking her for walks, and she is one of the happiest, healthiest, most well behaved, most intelligent dogs I've ever seen. I'm incredibly impressed with Nathan's dedication to his dog, and I know he would treat other dogs with the same amount of love and attention, because above all else, it's what Nathan cares about most in this world.

There are a TON of places on Long Island (or in the Westchester area) that are great for dog walking. There are dog parks all over the place, and a dog beach in Patchogue. Depending on what your dog likes, we can go hiking in the woods, walk through a quaint town, stroll on a paved path, or chill at my home.
