Experienced + Fun-loving Pet Friend

Pet care experience

Joyful, fully vaccinated and boosted Oregon native. I have been a dog walker and cat sitter for the last 3 years professionally, and for many more years (30+) with my own animals before that. I love animals of all kinds, and dogs are my favorite, though I have many very special feline, avian, amphibian and reptile friends as well. I have worked with fearful, reactive, and hyper-timid dogs to get them out walking safely, as well as easy-going trusting types that can be let off leash in the park to fetch. I have done volunteer training at Oregon Humane Society learning training techniques and Body Language and Behavior. I love to walk dogs, take them to the dog park, or go on hiking adventures. For the kitties, I am a super efficient litter cleaner, and dinner and breakfast maker, leaving lots of time for snuggles if your cat likes that, or just making sure they are around if they like to hide. Your pet's safety and happiness are at the heart of everything I do.

Natalie is the best! She takes great care of my cats and is always super attentive and careful. She is reliable and really cares about the pets. Moreover, she is the only pet sitter who also really carefully cleans the pet area each time. I highly recommend her!

When we need someone to care for our 3-yo poodle Bowie, Natalie is our first call. She treats him with playful, knowledgeable love and respect, and we trust her to take good care in and out of the house. We get photos of him out in the world with quick (and extremely entertaining) captions that remind us that she knows and can handle his quirks with aplomb. Can't recommend Natalie more highly (and Bowie agrees).

Natalie is amazing with my dogs. She is reliable, calm, and so kind and patient with them. I used to dread taking my dogs on walks, because they were so crazy on their leashes--I have one grumpy dog, who doesn't really care if she gets her exercise, and one super-hyper dog, who can't wait to get out the door, so I would have one dog pulling, and one dog putting on the brakes! Somehow, Natalie manages to successfully meet the needs of both of my very different dogs at the same time. She understands their behavior, body language, and has worked with them to refine their "manners." She's even taken the time to expose them to other dogs, along the way (thoughtfully checking with me, beforehand, to be sure I was OK with the idea). When the dogs hear her arrive for their walks, they howl in excitement, and race toward the front door. It is such a relief, in my overscheduled world, to know that someone is consistently here to help provide my dogs with the exercise and enrichment they need.

Available for drop-ins, walks and security checks at your location. All of my services come with photos and status updates. I am extremely detail-oriented, and very clean. I like to leave my clients' homes washed up, and will make sure to keep your pet safe, happy and clean while not sacrificing fun. Any information you share with me, is safely guarded and secure and will not be shared with anyone else. I occasionally do overnight sits but mainly reserve evenings and weekends for my family. When I do stay overnight, I bring my own sleeping bag and food, and clean up so well you'll never know I was here. Except for how relaxed and happy your pet is.

Information Natalie S. would like to know about your pet

–Does your dog have any fears, injuries or health issues I should know about? So we can avoid other dogs presence or sight if reactive, or work on training with treats or other methods as you wish. -When out walking are they a strong puller? Do they look for things to eat which they shouldn't? Do they have food sensitivities? -Any specific harness, leash, or lead you would like me to use, and its location. And TOWEL or wipes for cleaning up wet or dirty paws. -Our pets are as individual as people and I love learning their funny foibles. If your pet has special needs, I'm open to learning those. Please ask. I have had experience giving oral meds and injections subcutaneously with dogs. I have given oral medicine to cats who take it easily.

A typical day

I love getting to know each animal's personality and am happy to play whatever your dog is in the mood for. Whether it's sniffing around, brisk walking, fetch, tug-of-war, nose-games or working on some training and skills. I'm happy to give your furry friend whatever mental and physical stimulation you and they require. Sometimes I even figure out some games, owners didn't even know their dog liked!

Weekdays I work at home in the mornings, so midday hours of 10-4 are open for me to walk, drop-in for potty break, or just help your dog get out and get the wiggles out so you can have a more restful evening. Weekends I reserve for my family.
