Growing up we always had at least one family dog...plus a gold fish, a few hamsters, a bunny, and for a short period of time, two rats, to my sister's absolute dismay. I was always bringing stray animals home and making "found pet" signs to hang around my neighborhood, with the secret hope they didn't have owners and I'd get to keep them. I was successful a handful of times :) I dont currently have any pets of my own, mostly because I'm cautious of the financial and time commitment of being a single pet parent. I get my fur fix (and the occasional feather fix) by boarding and day-sitting pets of friends. My "goddog" Kotay stays with me a few times a year. He's a rescue with anxiety that doesn't like kids, men, or other dogs, so I do have experience with dogs that take medication and need a bit more diligence when going out for walks. I'm super active and will happily take your pup on as many walks and hikes as they'd like, but also happy to cuddle on the couch if that's their speed.
