Loves animals more than humans

Pet care experience

I've been around animals since I was a little kid. I grew up with pet dogs for 18+ years and now a proud cat mom of two rescue cats. They've fully taken my heart and made me a cat lover. I have experience taking care of shy/anxious cats and dogs. I have proficient experience with walking dogs (two at a time), brushing dogs/cats, administering medication (orally and ear cleaner), trimming cat toenails, feeding pets, playing with them inside/outside, and giving animals proper attention and love they need and deserve. I am extremely in-tune with animal behavior- especially cats. I run a blog and newsletter for a rescue in DC called Four Paws. I'd be delighted to help out with your furry family member!

Natalie took the best care of our two cats, Boots + Biscuit!!! She went above and beyond with her care, pictures/videos, and updates. Both cats adored her. We cannot recommend her enough.

Natalie was amazing! Super easy and fast to communicate with, and our cat seemed to love spending time with her. She knows a lot about cats so we felt really comfortable having her take care of our cat. Highly recommend!

Safety, trust & environment

To me, it's important to approach an animal with a calm non-threatening behavior. I do this by offering treats, speaking in a quiet tone, and letting the animal sniff me. My approach is to show the animal that I care for them and that I am a friend. I'd pivot depending on the personality/temperament of the animal. I'll work with the client ahead of time to learn about their pet needs so I can keep their routine the same as they are used to. I will provide detailed notes/photos for the client so they feel connected with their fur-baby. I'll also be sure to read home instructions given to me. I'm happy to take packages in, get mail, and water plants if needed.

Information Natalie M. would like to know about your pet

I want to know their general disposition. Are they shy, hyper, nervous, and what I can do to remedy their anxieties (both the parent and dog) ahead of my first visit. I'd like to know if they take any medicine, their medical history, the contact info for their vet, and any other special things to make the dog more at ease.

A typical day

I like to take dogs on walks/runs. If there is a park nearby I'll go there. If they have a fenced in yard I'll throw a toy/ball for them. I also love to brush animals (if they like to be brushed). Giving pets and attention is very important.
