I work from home and let my dogs play both inside and outside. (I'd say I have to open the door for them +10 times a day!) There is a walking trail behind our huge fenced yard, so there is always activity that keeps them entertained. They get a ton of exercise just running back and forth chasing people/dogs along the fence. Inside, there are plenty of toys. (Our dogs have a barkbox subscription.) There are also plenty of places for them to relax. We can usually find our dogs in our bed or on one of the landings on the stairs. Having trained my german shepherd dog, I would say I'm pretty knowledgable about dog behavior and training. I spoil my dogs with treats and pets, but I also know that they need structure and for me to be the leader, so I try to do that too.
