Recently moved to Jacksonville from New York! Very eager to make some new furry friends! I have been a pet owner since a young age and I have professional animal care experience going on 7 years! From 2014 to 2017 I worked full-time as a kennel manager at an emergency animal hospital that had a capacity of over 100 cats and dogs. At the same hospital I also held positions such as, veterinary assistant and pharmacy tech before being promoted to kennel manager all within 4 years. I received a job offer at the animal hospital after completing a high school internship. Over the 2014 school year I had spent several months volunteering at Heart of the Catskills humane society in Delhi, NY caring for dogs and cats who were awaiting adoption, as community service for SUNY Delhi. I started pet sitting full-time in 2017 in order to be felxible with my class schedule. In 2018 I interned at the St. Augustine Alligator Farm Zoological Park in Florida where I received exhilarating hands-on experience with alligators, crocodiles, snakes, lizards, Komodo dragons and so much more! In spring 2019, I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Biology and Chemistry from Farmingdale State College while volunteering my free time at the Bronx zoo in the World of Reptiles to further my knowledge of exotic animal care and conservation. I simultaneously worked part-time at Petco as an animal companion, mainly working with small reptiles and small animals such as mice, hamsters, guinea pigs, and ferrets. Since moving to Jacksonville in summer 2019, I started working as a veterinary assistant at Banfield Pet Hospital. There I have gained more experience with lab diagnostics such any blood draws, radiology, and more. I am now trained for the surgery team and perform anesthetic dental cleanings and monitor anesthesia for surgical procedures. I enjoy spending as much time as possible with dogs and any other type of pet you may have. I have been devoted to animal care since a young age and I've had pets my whole life including dogs and even mice!! I am currently in college on a path to make a career as a Veterinarian. I have been studying the Veterinary Medicine field for several years both professionally and academically. Animal Care is my passion and I find great joy in working in this field. I am eager to learn as much as I can during my journey through school.
