Animal Welfare Professional
Pet care experience
Cross-trained caregiver with direct experience in many capacities. Aside from the services mentioned by Rover, I have an extensive background in the general field of animal welfare, including training in multiple Veterinary services. Due to previous employment as an Animal Technician & Veterinary Assistant in the shelter/rescue setting, I also gained talents in specialty behavior training and rehabilitation methods for animals from all types of backgrounds. Thus far the animals that I have worked with include dogs, cats, critters, reptiles, birds, horses, wildlife, and so on. Whether you require detail-oriented attention for dietary or medical needs or you have an active puppy, I am open to the job!
Reviews
We have been repeat customers. Natalie is the best! We hope she never leaves the business. :)
Thanks again!
Found Natalie off a promotional posting on neighborhood app and she was able to meet the dog next day. My wife passed a couple of years ago and our yorkie was her buddy. Tango was over 15 years old and I hired for walks and overnights when away for work. I had to put Tango down last week and Natalie was not only kind but she helped me start the process and checked in after the fact. THANK YOU for helping me handle what was otherwise a really difficult triggering event. You gave my dog some fun afternoons during his last days and he was noticeably happier when you visited.
This is the second time Natalie took care of our kitty Achilles. She was so great about communication and left very detailed report cards. She gave us peace of mind while we were away for a long weekend! We will absolutely use Natalie again in the future!

Overall I usually care for pets in the owner's home. I am also COVID vaccinated if that is of concern. My own animals stay with family so my attention is undivided for your companion. I send regular updates, plenty of photos, and my focus is that the pet feels stress-free by applying the 5 Freedoms Rule for animal wellness. I make sure to offer fresh water throughout the day, as well as plenty of socializing & outdoor time, weather permitting. When I leave them alone, I utilize music/TV and offer enrichment solutions. I take the nature of this work seriously (this is not just a hobby) and recognize how much you are entrusting the sitter when you leave them at home with your loved ones. Thanks for giving my profile a glance and I hope to hear from you! ~Graduated ASPCA & Animal Humane Society certified workshops and welfare conferences ~Trained in fear-free handling protocols ~Trained in formal fitting & application of the Gentle Leader, Martingale Collar, and Easy Walk Harness ~Trained in proper animal transport protocols ~ASPCA certified behavior training, including canine/feline habitat management
Information Natalie B. would like to know about your pet
All I need to know is a little bit about their background (shy/fearful, rescue, stray, cruelty case or puppy mill survivor, etc.) This is so that I can try to be aware of any triggers (such as threshold issues) to help ease your pet and keep them comfortable. Also crucial to loop me in on any food bowl or other resource guarding behaviors, or if your pet might be leash/dog reactive. Always good to note any escape artists or any impairment with vision and hearing. I absolutely do not have any breed preferences - I genuinely love them all. If you have any breeds that are brachycephalic (snub nosed or "smooshy face") I have a pup like that myself, so I am very careful about monitoring them in severe temps or other unfit conditions. Very important to not walk them in certain weather... the same goes for any dogs with thicker coats. Please be careful in warm weather! For kitties I do like to know about dietary sensitivity, if they are prone to chronic ocular or URI issues, FIV+ or FELV+, etc. **Notify me if your pet has any record of separation anxiety, territorial behavior, or bite history. This helps set up both the animal and myself for success. Please note that I require an initial meet and greet with any new client. This is recommended for both pet guardians and sitters before confirming a booking to ensure that it is a good match. I also prefer to complete a drop-in visit and/or dog walk service prior to confirming any new client overnight stays. ~Detailed written instructions ~Emergency (local) and Veterinary contacts ~Allergies, medications, restrictions, etc. ~Crating info, if applicable ~Previous pet sitter or boarding experiences ~Notify me if your pet has recently been around other animals, such as boarding or the groomer (due to protocols relating to ongoing canine virus) Billing Note: Rover quotes are auto generated, may not always accurately reflect sitter rates, and do not include all categories of care. Because of this, the sitter reserves the right to modify pricing on a case by case basis. The pet owner will always receive a quote in advance requiring approval before any changes are made.

Dog-walking is one of my favorite aspects. I love taking advantage of appropriate trails nearby. I also like to integrate scent work and other enrichment options. I'm very much a "floor person" and always try to be hands-on and talkative with the animals. Playing fetch or tug of war will happen frequently if that is their thing. When staying overnight, the pets are more than welcome to sleep in the guest room/bed with me. I'm a major cat lover <3 I'm a stickler for keeping litterboxes clean... and have been known to warm up even the most skeptical of cats. I also like to integrate feline enrichment, depending on any dietary or other restrictions. Bubbles are a great option too! Currently I have a Lionhead bunny at home and so I also take their special care needs and enrichment plans very seriously. Critters require a minimum of 1 hour outside of their cage, in addition to plenty of hay/water. Several chew and forage options should always be made available.

I am currently accepting Rover jobs on a full-time basis. See below for booking promo code! Repeat clients will also receive future benefits :) **NEW CLIENT DISCOUNT** ($20 OFF) Code: NATALB04396 Outside of Rover, I am a part-time college student. Classes are typically hybrid or asynchronous formats. For drop-in and dog walking services, I will typically stay a little longer when time allows. Should you have a need for an extended day visit, please ask about hourly rate details. If you have a large number of pets, some fees may be reduced. Regarding overnights, when able I will stay for ~24 consecutive hours. Should I need to leave, I plan to keep my time away to a minimum. I aim to keep meals and trips outside pretty consistent and I keep a time log of when pups were last out, fed, medicated, etc.
