I have always had a passion for animals for as long as I can remember. I took a strong interest in them when I was younger and have always loved caring for them. I got my first cat when I was five years old and have had one ever since. I have never owned a dog but have been walking and caring for them for years. The most helpful experience I have had with animals was working at an animal shelter some years back (non-profit, no-kill). Next to teaching, this has been my favorite 'job.' I often brought animals home to care for after surgeries. In addition, I was able to take dogs and cats to several events (including the local news channel) to promote our adoption services. I am always on the lookout for animals to help which has resulted in saving several over the years. Most recently, I was able to foster two incredibly sweet special needs kittens with severe eye issues. Having to let go of them was the toughest part of the experience! I have experience caring for: +puppies and kittens (including bottle feeding and helping use the bathroom) +experience with senior animals +blind and deaf animals +surgery aftercare +multiple large dogs (3 at a time at most so far) +dogs & cats in the same home +nursing cats back to health (from stray situations) +large dogs (Great Danes, Rhodesian Ridgebacks, doodles, labs) +exotic cats (bengals) +walking 2 dogs at once (small & large)
