Jeff and I are retired and live with our Sheltie, Lilly. One of us is basically always home so your dog should not be lonely! We have a dog door accessible to our large fenced yard which we close if we leave the house, or should we smell a skunk! As a rule I don't leave any guest dog outside alone so they aren't expected to use the doggie door unless they prefer it. We've lived in Old Town Pflugerville in a 100 year old home for 20 years. We welcome small to medium dogs who are housebroken and get along well with other dogs. We've always had dogs and have babysat many of our friends and kids dogs for forty years. Rest assured we are dog pamperers. We have never crated our dogs - they sleep where they want so if yours likes to crate at night then you would need to bring his own. We want to keep small to medium dogs UP TO 30 lbs. but there is no option for that in the services section. I love to take pictures so will send emails or texts daily. I have never had a female dog pee in the house but lately have had a problem with a few male dogs. If a male who stays here does have a problem then he'll be required to wear a belly band. For some reason they don't even try when wearing one. I don't have "always home" option checked in my profile just in case we need to go to the store etc. but it's rare that both of us are gone at the same time. I have pet cameras in my home so I can check on them if we're out for any reason. If we do leave I would of course make sure that your pup is comfortable being here with just Lilly.
