Hi there! I’ve had pets my whole life- from bunnies and fish as a little girl, to kittens and cats (even a hermit crab rescue!), to now knowing the joy of having a big, well-trained dog in the home (we have a 70-lb. German Shepherd who is one of the pack with her three human kids and cat!). A formative experience when I first started working with animals was the year I volunteered as much time as I could at the county pound. I spent dozens of hours learning about animal behavior, adoption pairing/ breed characteristics, light veterinary care like administering medication or vaccines; and simply socialized all the good animals from kittens and cats to puppies and dogs. I learned then that all dogs- no matter the breed!- can be good dogs. And that all animals have such special personalities. I spent a couple of seasons independently pet sitting neighbor pets before I went to college and became a full-time mom (of three awesome kids!), and now that my youngest is getting bigger, I have time to care for animals again. I just love spending time with all types of animals, whether pet sitting or doing more targeted training work. If you choose me to watch your beloved furry, feathered, or scaly babies; I can assure you that I’ll care for them with lots of love, consideration and mindfulness. Plus snuggles and rubbings balanced with trying to keep everyone well-behaved with lots of positive reinforcement :) I walk dogs rain or shine! Non-smoker.
