I have watched dogs for my friends and then watched a dog from a family I met at the dog park. The owners always comment on how excited their dogs are when they drive up to my house for another stay! Unfortunately they both moved away and I like to have a dog to have fun with occasionally. I don't have a dog myself, because I work full time and sometimes go away on weekend trips. Sometimes I may be able to watch a dog during the week. I prefer a Friday thru Sunday stay. When I have the dog at my house I like to be with the dog for the entire time. I may need to run a quick errand, but I feel that the dog should have FUN while away from it's family. Some say I spoil the dogs, but isn't that what a vacation is all about? I do not have a fenced in back yard so I will ALWAYS have them on a leash. I live close to a park and I love to walk so hopefully your dog does too! If your dog likes the dog park I have done that as well. If your pup gets a bit dirty having fun, I have no problem giving them a nice bath as long as it is ok with the owners. The dogs that I have watched would just sleep in my bed (I don't like them to be lonely!). Again, it is the owners preference if they would like to bring a crate.
