I have been a dog owner most of my life. I do not have a dog now and miss the companionship. My most recent friend that I lost in February of 2017 after fifteen years of a mutually devoted relationship, was a rescue who had gone through two unsuccessful adoptions before meeting me. When I went to meet him his foster mom turned to her friend and said, "he likes her!" I asked how could she tell, and she said because he is not barking at you. He felt safe with me from the moment we met. Our friendship was meant to be. In addition to being a devoted dog owner, I served on the board of the local no-kill shelter in the community where I recently moved from. I am retired and can be available any time.
