Personal story: I have no idea where to start with how excited I am to be a part of Rover! I have been caring for dogs practically since the day I was born. Growing up, my family had 4 dogs (German Shepard, Aussie, Lab, and Golden mix), so I learned the importance of caring for and providing lots of attention to pets at a very young age. My roommate in college had a small dog (Shitzu) that I would dog sit for several weekends a month, and he practically became my own. Additionally, I nannied for a family for two years and took care of their dog on a regular basis (e.g., food, water, LOTS of love, and occasional overnight sitting). My family now has 2 more dogs (Husky and Blue Heeler mix), one of which I kept with me for half of my college career (the Husky). I wanted to be certain I had the time to devote to the dog before making a commitment to one of my own, and it's been the best life decision I've made to this day! I adopted my very own Husky in February of 2019, and my world has revolved around him ever since. I especially love taking him on long walks around downtown, hiking around forests, and running with him in dog parks around the area. He has so much energy and gets along tremendously with other dogs, which is partially why I am joining Rover - so we can find more friends for him to play with! Why choose ME? It's a good question! There are endless sitters on this site. I think my love for dogs and eagerness to meet so many more sets me apart. I will care for your dog as if she/he is my own. I will take your dog on constant walks around the neighborhood, to local dog parks, and play at home with them as much as possible, because I know FIRSTHAND what it's like to worry that your pet isn't getting the love and attention they deserve when staying away from home! Having just raised a puppy of my own (and yes, while large, he's still a puppy!), I am an expert at all things puppy related - potty training, crate training, you name it. I've also grown up with so many large dogs, that I'm an expert at dealing with them as well. I am happy to care for any dog, any breed, any age, any size and confident that I am the best for the job!
