This was my first time using Rover, and I had a really unfortunate experience with Nadia. I left my dog, Magnolia, with Nadia on 12/24. Magnolia is a 65-pound dog that needs a lot of exercise and attention. There are also some neighborhood cats that she likes to chase after when she's outside. I let Nadia know about all of this beforehand. I didn't have high hopes about Magnolia's care, as Nadia arrived at my home and seemed bothered that she couldn't let my Magnolia out back (we have a patio, not a yard) and complained that she would have to pick up after her. This seemed odd to me, coming from someone who chooses to take care of dogs, but I was on my way to the airport to catch an international flight and had no other option but to go. I had asked Nadia to contact my mother if she needed anything because we would be abroad. As it turns out, we didn't have internet for much of the trip. But early on, Nadia sent me pictures of some leg cuts/scrapes she had incurred. She reported that Magnolia had chased after a cat, and Nadia had fallen down. Nadia said she hadn't been paying attention while walking her. I wasn't sure how to handle this from abroad, so I asked what happened, apologized, and left it at that. But this is when I reached out to Rover the first time. I was worried that she would leave Magnolia without care. I also decided to check on Magnolia to make sure that Nadia hadn't left/was still caring for her. I have a camera in the living room in plain view. On 12/25, I turned on the camera and heard Nadia telling someone on the phone that she had Magnolia in "timeout most of the day" because of what had happened the day prior (pulling on the leash/causing her to fall). She called Magnolia "spoiled" and said, "She needs to learn," and that she was "keeping her in her crate." She also stated that Magnolia had diarrhea because she had eaten Nadia's food. She mentioned that Magnolia had peed/pooped in the house, which happens when she is feeling neglected/upset. Finally, she stated that she had moved from our guest room (where I had set her up) up to my child's bed. When we later checked on this, she lied about where she was sleeping. Nadia neglected to mention any of this to me, not her isolating Magnolia in her crate, the diarrhea, the peeing/pooping inside, or her sleeping in my child's bed. Instead, what she chose to contact me with were questions about the wifi, my stove, etc. And she sent texts about what a "good girl" Magnolia is at the same time that she was yelling at her/punishing her. The next day, I checked the camera again and heard Nadia continue to yell at Magnolia. I figured the only way to save her from yelling and being isolated in her crate was to have her go to her daycare (where she goes 1-2 times a week), away from Nadia. Magnolia went to her daycare on 12/26. After that, I checked on her again. I heard Nadia yelling at her multiple times to lie down on the couch. Nadia sat on the other end of the couch, as far as possible from Magnolia, but then got close to her for one minute to take a picture with her to send to me. She sent a text to me saying "Magnolia is a good girl" right after yelling at her. Her dishonesty and connivingness was so disturbing. I overheard Nadia talking to someone on the phone on this day too. She said she had trouble getting Magnolia into the car that day for daycare. She said that if she had trouble the following day, she was going to "put her up on a stool and then push her in" to the car. I sent Magnolia to daycare for five days while I was away, an unanticipated cost since I had hired Nadia to care for her. Daycare costs $35/day, and I was already paying that amount to have Nadia "care" for her. In Nadia's care, Magnolia was yelled at, kept in her crate as punishment, had diarrhea - and Nadia lied to me about everything. When I returned, Magnolia didn't eat for 36 hours. The food left in her bowl was rancid. Whatever you do, do not leave your animal with Nadia. She will say one thing and do another. She will send you cute pictures while neglecting and abusing your pet (which you can actually hear/see if you have cameras). I'm lucky that I was able to send Magnolia to daycare each day to remove her from Nadia's care. Hopefully, no one else will end up in a similar situation.

Nadia was excellent with our Daisy and did above and beyond to do laundry and cleaning after her stay at our house.

Nadia was great. She came to our house the day before to meet and greet. This helped us feel more comfortable. I could tell she loves and cares for dogs. During our outing, she sent us pictures and this helped a lot. She took great care of our dog. Thank you!
