I really hate leaving bad reviews, but this was pretty brutal. She wasn’t super communicative, okay, not all catsitters are. It turned out five days in her son was allergic to cats. So we agreed to have her drop him off early, before I got home. There was no communication, he wasn’t dropped at the time planned so I couldn’t have another friend check on him, she never communicated to say he was delivered. That’s not great, but look, life happens to us all. What brings me to one star review territory is that she dropped him with no litter in his box, did not tell me there was no litter in his box, and he peed the carpet before I got home. I’ve had this cat ten years, he has never once peed outside his box, and he’s suffered through me having weeks where I only scooped his box once or twice. I asked earlier in the week if she needed me to ship her more litter, she said no. What kills me and brings me to one star review territory is this was so easily avoidable with communication. If she had texted to say “hey he’s really low on litter” I have three friends with cats in my neighborhood where they could have brought fresh litter, or I could have Venmo’d her to buy litter. Any of those options, no worries, great communication, five star review. It’s not her fault he was low on litter! But she didn’t communicate at ALL. Now I am looking at a ruined thousand plus dollar antique hand knotted silk carpet that isn’t even mine and that I was expected to return to the family member that lent it one day. He’s also super super unhappy. Really out of character behavior. I don’t know how much of that is him being upset about the litter situation or what happened to him over there, but the litter situation is not a signal she knows how to care for cats. So, yeah, very sorry to say, this wasn’t a great experience! Would not recommend. Maybe she is better with dogs?

This is our second time with Mytia and will definitely book again!
