Pet care experience
We are a military family, and at our last duty station, my husband's colleagues regularly required someone to house and/or dog sit while they were away training. I was amazed at how quickly our dog (Misty) and kiddos made friends with these dogs and wanted to have them over all the time. At times, I would find them volunteering themselves and our home to have them come back and stay just for a night. My husband, Eliezer, would have a dog-sled team if I let him. We enjoy our time with each dog, getting to know their personality, quarks, and habits. I hope you can see that the Rod Squad (as we call ourselves) is a family who not only likes to host but will treat your four-legged companion like family.

From the first time I met this family, I had good vibes. I was overjoyed that they took my Molly into their home with so much love. Daily pictures and videos while I was away confirmed Molly’s happiness. I don’t think I could ever go back to boarding her anywhere else. I couldn't have dreamed of a better family to take care of my pup! Myranda was amazing to work with and very communicative. She sent thoughtful video/photo updates everyday, and I truly felt like Jiraiya was well loved and treated like family in their care.

Prissy is always well taken care of and loved when she’s with Myranda and her family. The kids are very attentive, entertaining, and loving with her. I receive a video of Prissy’s daily activities each evening. It’s so reassuring that someone is taking good care of my baby.🥰

We believe in following a routine to minimize the risk of accidents or stress to all parties involved. When we leave home without Misty and have someone sitting for us, we kindly ask our sitters to follow our routine, so please let us know what your companion likes, does not like, etc. We will do our best to minimize the stress they might have from you being away by following the routine you establish for them. If we have any questions or concerns, we will bring them up immediately. We have rules and boundaries established in our home for safety and trust. All of our family members understand when guests are present, it imperative to follow these rules for everyone's well-being. These will include your do's/don'ts with your companions.

A typical day
Whatever he or she fancies. Tug of war, fetch, long walks, short walks, sniffing out the neighborhood, rolling around, lounging around, napping, cuddling, posing for pics, socializing. The little list of activities are endless.

Availability
We are a family of early birds. Up at 0500 getting ready for school and work. We are generally dropping off the kiddos at school by 0710 and available to give your loved ones plenty of attention from 0800 until about 1400 when we start our homework/afterschool routine. Generally, after dinner time, 1700, we will be able to spend time with our kids and your companions and get them ready for bed by 2000. We (parents) will start winding down around 2100, but if there is a need for a late-night visit/walk, we can also make it happen.
