Caring and Experienced Pet Sitter

Pet care experience

Hello everyone! Thank you for considering me to take care of your furbabies! I have two dogs of my own aged 3 and 2, so I know how important it is to have someone trustworthy and caring to watch your pets when needed! I have watched dogs ranging from full grown german shepherds to small puppies. I volunteered at my local animal shelter, Pet Refuge, two years ago and discovered my passion for animals! I have experience with caring for numerous sizes, ages, and breeds of dogs through both my past volunteer experience and my work here through Rover over the past 2 years. These dogs include pit bulls, golden retrievers, australian shepherds, poodles and doodles, labs, chihuahuas, beagles, bulldogs, terriers, and many mixes in between. My experience includes walking, feeding, giving oral medicine, and learning of the various traits and behaviors of dogs. I have learned many skills on how to interact with dogs and how to read their body language. I have been so fortunate to expand further on all of these skills through my own work full-time here on Rover with my daily clients, as well as my every-once-in-awhile pet pals. I also had a cat who lived to be 18 years old, and just recently adopted two kittens, so I have experience with cat duties as well including litter box cleaning and feeding.

Mya is the absolute best! We’ve exclusively used her services for our dogs for years because she’s so great. I absolutely recommend booking her!

Mya is great with our dog. We have hired her multiple times and she is very dependable. Definitely plan to hire her again next time.

Mya is truly the best person to watch your pets. She’s been beyond amazing with our senior dog, who requires daily medication multiple times a day. She’s been so reliable and who we have exclusively used the services of for years.

My family has been using Mya for years and it’s been so amazing to have someone we can rely on. We have two dogs, one who has medical needs, and Mya is so wonderful with them both.

Safety, trust & environment

As I previously stated, I have a few pets of my own, so I know how important it is to find someone trustworthy and honest. Communication is key for my care and I am always updating, asking questions, and communicating with the parent while I care for their pet. Who doesn’t love lots of updates? I go with your pets pace, so if it’s a puppy full of energy we’ll be sure to play a lot - but if you have a senior who likes to relax, we will! Whatever your dogs (or cats) needs are I am there to fulfill them! A typical day for dogs in my care is just like most days in their own home. They get to roam the house, play outside, rest on the couches, bed, and dog beds, go on walks, get treats (if permitted by owners), etc.! Your dogs will always have others to play with as my own dogs are there to provide company as well! They will have an exciting day of play and most likely be tired out by the time you pick them up! If you are looking for a sitter that watches 10-15 dogs at once in a chaotic environment, then I am not the sitter for you. I limit my responsibilities to just a few dogs (1-3) so that I can provide one-on-one attention and care to each dog in order to create individual bonds that will last and hopefully carry on through future sittings. While your dog won’t have the company of a dozen dogs, they still will have the company of a couple others, but most importantly they will have my full attention and care as well.

Information Mya R. would like to know about your pet

I would like to know any important behaviors, needs, or requirements for care of your dog. These include dietary, medical, and personal needs for you or your pet! For example: Does your pet need medicine administered during the time of care? Does your pet have any allergies? Does your pet have any areas they do not like being touched? Does your pet have any cue words to help calm them? Does your pet enjoy the company of other animals and/or strangers? I would like to have a meet and greet, either in public (parks usually) or in your own home! Wherever you are comfortable works for me! We can discuss details later on, and I am generally very flexible!

A typical day

A typical day for me includes spending time with many dogs and sometimes cats! Whether this be through Rover appointments, my own pets, or volunteering at the animal shelter, I just love spending time with animals! Dropping in on your pets while you’re away at work, on vacation, or just need an extra hand is my specialty! Staying overnight in your home to take care of your pets works as well! I am pretty flexible and would love to talk to you to see if I would fit your needs. So, do not hesitate to message me if interested to see if we are a match!

I love working with dogs. I am currently pet-sitting full time in hopes to one day create my own business and expand! I am so passionate and appreciate all of my current and past pet parents so much for allowing me to take care of their pets! My schedule is generally completely open according to my availability and I would love to hear from you! I am super flexible! Outside of my Rover schedule I stay at home with my own two dogs and two kittens!
