Moriah the dog nanny!

Pet care experience

About me: I have 10 years of being a formal pet sitter and dog walker, and 30 years of being an animal appreciator and lover. I grew up with animals of all kinds in my home (cats, dogs, birds, fish, a tortoise, a pair of guinea pigs, hamsters) and have always felt them to be members of our family. After becoming ill in my teen years, my recovery began with taking my dogs to the park everyday. Getting out in nature and seeing the joy in the dogs and owners as they interacted sparked a new passion from me. I finally found a place where I was enlightened, curious and filled with joy, which took my mind off of the pain. My fascination in dogs grew as I observed them individually by breed, by their interaction, their expressions, their personalities, their preferences, how they communicate, their ability to live in the moment, be true to themselves, and their genuineness. I find joy in researching and learning more about different breed types and ways to approach working with dogs. My style is calm, loving, empathic, professional, timely, detail oriented, and creating a real, true, deep friendship/connection with each pet. Work ethic: My work is about both you (as the owner) and I (as the sitter) working together to put your pet first. When you need to leave I will step to provide continuous care and companionship as you do for your pet. I believe that animals are individuals who have personalities and health needs, deserve love and respect just like humans, and that they are a part of the family. In my work, I focus on first taking the logistical details of your pet - I would like to get to know their individual needs, daily routine, how they interact with people and other animals, how they like to be touched, how they like to play, and any behavioral things they are working on. I am very flexible with my schedule and have constant communication with owners through text, phone, and email. Most importantly, I send lots of photos! I provide exercise, love, petting, socialization, my full attention, discipline, and my full self in order to foster their individual growth. Cuddling, eye connections or soul connection, brain stimulation and me talking to them as an individual fosters our trust and communication in our friendship. I honor both their animal instincts and their domestic instincts. If I am on an extended stay with your pet, I don’t leave them alone for more than four hours. Work experience: I have 10 years of professional experience in dog sitting, dog nannying, dog walking, cat visits, special needs, seniors, breeds of all size, administering medications, pick-ups and drop-offs and pet taxi. Including raising my own lab puppy, did all the training and fully certified as a service dog team through Handi-dogs Inc, who helps me with care and training other dogs also, she’s a fully neutral dog who will correct and adjust her play and knows when she is working. I enjoy going on individual walks with your dog, on or off leash, or going to the dog park and fully engaging with your dogs and others. I also enjoy cuddling and laying on the couch with them for hours, keeping each other company, hiking, playing with favorite toys, photo shoots and more! I have experience volunteering at Muttville Senior Dog Rescue in San Francisco where I did inventory, dog care, dog love and attention, bathing, light grooming, learning about medications and conditions and fostering a senior dog with special needs. The basic dog behavioral techniques I use are to be calm and assertive, not forcing blame, time-outs on leash, walking away, not coddling yet showing care for their well being and safety. If any altercations happen with your dog and another, I will assess each dog’s body and if they seem like their self or not, exchange information with other owner or walker and call you immediately to tell you what happen and ask you how you would like me to handle the dog’s care from there. I have 3+ years of experience volunteering at Handi-dogs in pet classes, service dog and therapy dog training classes. I am great at what I do because of my heart, passion, and interest. I create long lasting relationships with the pets and their owners. I have become family with past clients because of our mutual love and care for their pet family member and because of the trust and happiness of their pet with me. Canon of Ethics to work by: 1. I am a professional. 2. The pet always comes first. 3. Every animal is a unique individual, just like humans. 4. I am always aware. 5. Education is never-ending.

Moriah has taken care of our "kids" Ringo, Rochelle and Meka for the past several years and she is hands down our favorite pet sitter. She is super sweet and caring with the kids and they love her visits. Moriah does little things like sending pictures and checking in regularly that we really appreciate. When Moriah takes care of our kids we know they are going to have a great time and get lots of hugs and kisses. We highly recommend Moriah.

Moriah has an abundance of love for dogs, its true and its beautiful and I have learned so much from her by having her take care of my own dog. She was walking my puppy starting at 7 months old and created a strong connection to her as well as a playful, fun-loving committed relationship. I am so grateful to have had Moriah be a part of our furry family for the past 3 years. She went beyond any expectations with the level of care and thoughtfulness she had planned in her outings, special treats and flexibility. She is extraordinary and if you are looking for pure doggie love, expertise and reliability, she does this and more.

Moriah is the greatest dog walker ever! Our two little dogs go crazy with excitement when they see her. She is very reliable and trustworthy. She has walked our dogs and stayed in our house with the dogs while we were out of town. She always sends us photos of her and the dogs on great adventures so we know they are out having fun and being well cared for. I cant say enough good things about Moriah.

Moriah is the ultimate puppy nanny. Her caring, concern and attention to detail when caring for my English Bulldog is truly unprecedented. Having Moriah to rely on completely relieved the stress of traveling for work.
