10+ Years of Gentle Pet Care

Pet care experience

Hi there! My name is Morgann and I am looking to take care of the cutest member of your family - your pet(s)! A bit about me: I have worked for Rover since 2014. I have recently taken some time off Rover to focus on my social work career in Washington, DC. Currently I am back living in Utah and am excited to work with you and your pet(s). I am Deaf and communicate using American Sign Language (ASL). Don't know ASL? No worries at all, I am happy to work with other forms of communication. I have two very sweet sister cats named Pickles (Dark Calico) and Petrie (Light Calico) that I rescued in 2015. In 2019, I expanded our family and welcomed our puppy, Kona (Airedoodle/Lab), into our home. Kona is gentle and naturally a teaching dog around puppies. It's amazing to watch him work with younger dogs who need behavioral correction! Kona is shy and reserved at first, but the most loyal dog once he gets to know you. No matter what season it is, we are always adventuring and playing outdoors.

Morgann was extremely sweet and her dog Kona became Kenji’s older brother! Kenji had a lot of fun at Morgann’s place. I’ll definitely book again!

Morgann was amazing! Her attention to my dogs care and their needs was exceptional. Her communication and daily photos were what I needed to feel comfortable leaving them on a long vacation. She is wonderful and goes above and beyond. I know she loves my girls like her own!

Safety, trust & environment

As a furparent myself, I believe in providing a calm, stress-free environment where your pets can relax in their own home. I ensure I provide quality care for their daily needs. I can deliver the quality medical care that's required while minimizing fear, anxiety, or added stress. Routines will be completed carefully as instructed and I will provide enrichment whenever possible or wanted. It is my honor to respect your pets' autonomy and to provide affection to them with great care with their consent. I'll make sure the house is pet proof as a preventative measure to avoid unexpected trips to the vet. I'll provide basic support for their training regimen so they can stay on track if requested. I'll monitor their vital signs and behavioral signs to ensure they are okay throughout the day and send you pictures along the way.

Information Morgann S. would like to know about your pet

What makes your pet the most comfortable when away from family and how I can make sure they feel safe would be very helpful to know. Instructions that contain detailed information are helpful for first appointments. I'd like to know the dates and times when you will leave and return so I can prepare for incoming pet sitting stays. I'll need information on your pet such as usual temperament, usual routine, medical needs, allergies, likes and dislikes, favorite treats, etc. I'll require a copy of a vaccination record to ensure they are up to date on vaccines. In the event of an emergency, it would be helpful to have the vet's contact information and emergency contacts available, as well as signed consent forms. While I love all breeds, I need to know whether the dog or cat is aggressive beforehand. This is so I can prepare to handle them and safely care for your pet.

A typical day

For pet sitting: I will bring in packages and mail, do light housecleaning, water plants if needed, and shovel on snowy days. I will make sure your pet(s) get food, water, treats, walks if applicable, and plenty of play, attention, and care. If any accommodations are needed, I will be happy to do my very best if requested. Anything I can do to help families is my pleasure. I am happy to follow what works for your family and pets in your home. I like to relax around pets, cuddle, and chill/hang out at your home. If your pet(s) would like to, I will play with them in the yard or in the home. I am happy to provide any kind of enrichment you think your pet would enjoy. On most days, I'll walk the dogs around the block once or twice, up to 30 minutes. In extreme weather, walks will be limited to 15 minutes. They will get water and, of course, treats after every walk. In my spare time, when I'm not working, I read books, or adventure out in the neighborhood. For drop-in visits: I will make sure they have fresh food, fresh water, potty breaks, walks if applicable, play, and medical care if applicable before leaving the house safe and locked. Visits are usually 30 minutes each. Looking forward to connecting with you soon!

I am flexible about days and hours because I am a stay-at-home furparent. I live with two roommates who care for my cats and my dog (if I'm unable to bring) when I'm providing services for clients on Rover. I currently work part time remotely as a Quality Assurance Coordinator for an agency that provides therapy to Deaf and signing individuals in need. My schedule is fairly flexible and allows me to work in most settings such as your home.
