After raising dogs with family, working in a vet clinic when I was younger and volunteering with race dogs via Greyhound Pets, Inc. for years, I had an opportunity to live with a landlord who bread/raced Whippets (I managed 4-5 onsite). She selected me to live there to enable her to travel internationally. I continue to house and dog-sit for my previous landlords and I'm often asked by friends to do the same throughout Seattle/Redmond, WA. I did, however, recently move to FL so I'm in the process of building a new client base out here. I worked (4yrs) for an organization handling travel and quote logistics as well as international / domestic pet relocation ~ we offered a VIP, personalized pet nanny service where I handled door-to-door ground or air transport and USDA endorsements and immunizations (Germany, England, Mexico, drove cross-country and from WA to AK). I recently secured a corporate role in tech again but do still have ties to that family run business if you'd like details :) I have training and higher-level organic dietary knowledge along with some understanding of how to administer meds / IV's to geriatric pets. One of my other gig jobs is to deliver animals internationally (corp, personal and military) so I'm comfortable with fast-paced environments and I understand airline regulations, embargoes, restrictions and temperature guidelines. I have a natural kindness and patience toward all animals and a reputation for going above and beyond expected pet care. I enjoy jogging and hiking which is easier with medium-larger dogs (unless they fit in a backpack! I also send daily text and regular photo updates, unless the preference is otherwise.
