For pets in my own home, It depends on the pet, however I would likely keep them with me in a closed room along with my cat. My cat is friendly with dogs, but has little experience with other cats. If needed - I can separate them out. But by default would have both the client’s pet and mine in the room with me when I’m sleeping and then free to roam the rest of the house when I’m awake and can watch over them. For taking care of pets in a client’s home - it would depend on what the client needs. I’m happy to stay in the home with the pet if I have access to wifi. If I’m not required to be there full time, I will check on the pet as needed based on their schedule on top of visiting in adverse weather conditions to check on the condition of the house and the pet(s). I’m open to, and have before, removing pets from homes where they had lost power during adverse weather events and bringing them with me as needed (with client permission of course).
