Compassionate care with us!

Pet care experience

PLEASE NOTE: We are returning to ROVER.COM after about two years since I had a shift in work scheduling but now we are back! Sorry my testimonials are old, help me make some new ones! ABOUT US: Mature married couple with professional experience with dog handling and training. We love animals of all kinds and would love to take care of your pooch! I am active and enjoy the outdoors but also like to stay inside and watch movies in my free time. So in other words we get to play and we get to lay around and snuggle too! (Mature = 30's) We are compassionate caring people who just genuinely love animals. We have adopted some animals in poor shape and turned them into loving, trusting animals. WHY I STARTED DOG SITTING: Some time ago I had an emergency in which I needed to fly out asap. So trying to find a kennel for my Doberman was like jumping through hoops on fire! So, on such short notice, and with her breed, not only did I encounter a lot rejections but extremely high prices for care. She was the sweetest loving dog that only needed a leg to lean on yet I was charged an arm and a leg for so-so care. She was one of many animals there and I doubt she was given proper attention. So here I am, offering my home and love to someone who wants something better for their loved one because any dog owner knows, they're like our children, we want the best for them. You found it :) My dobie was in poor shape when we got her and sadly had to put her down not long ago. I plan on adopting more dobies in the future but with the obvious hurdles one has to jump with apartment living and owning such a "dangerous" breed has proven difficult. My cat is more threatening than my dobie ever was! It's not the breed its the owner! Anyway enough ranting! I offer discounted rates for repeat customers, referrals and extended stays. BE MINDFUL OF: I do have neighbors I need to be mindful of so please no dogs that excessively bark or whine, thank you! MY NEIGHBORHOOD: Secluded neighborhood conveniently located off academy and platte. WHAT TO EXPECT: I like to take pictures and keep you posted so you have nothing to worry about, your pooch is in good hands! I typically text them, but if you prefer I can send them through Rover. Please note I have a cats. Alana is our 5 year old husky rescue. She’s learning to be more social with people and does well with most dogs that aren’t overly aggressive. It'll be like they never left home. We provide a family dynamic atmosphere so it's a comfortable adjustment. Some people don't mind an additional dog being sat with their pet, if you would like your pet socialized with another animal please let us know, otherwise we only sit one family at a time. We abide by the schedule you provide us for food schedules, potty breaks if you have them on one etc. Q&A: How many dogs do you take at one time? -I generally try to keep it at just 2, sometimes it'll be three if I have a pet pick up overlap. How many walks do you go on daily? -We go on a minimum of 3 - 20 minute walks a day. Unless otherwise specified. Where will my dog sleep? -If you prefer them kenneled please bring it with you. We do not mind sharing our bed or couch either. (as long as they aren't bed hogs!) Usually we have their bed in our room with us so they feel safe. What should I bring? -Bring food, toys, treats. If they have a favorite dog bed bring that too. I usually have a plethora of additional toys and treats, so please let me know if they are on an dietary restrictions. Can we meet before hand? -Absolutely. We try to make ourselves as readily available as possible. Rover recently started charging for this service, I however still meet for free. Do you administer medication? -We are comfortable administering medication and have done so often. What if something bad happens to my pet? -I am covered under the protection package via Rover which will cover up to 5k in vet bills in the event of an emergency. Which I have yet to and plan on never having to utilize! -What is a typical day with you like? I work for FEMA so if I'm home I work out of our home office. If I am out of town for business we will not accept pets as Courtney works full-time out of the home and it wouldn't be fair to leave them home alone! When can we drop off? -We try to make ourselves readily available at all times of the day. We understand traveling isn't always as convenient as we'd wish it would be! If you prefer us to pick up your pet, we can do that also. Any behaviors you will not accept? -We just moved into a brand new apartment so we ask that your pet please be house broken. I get them outside for potty breaks often but if they are known to pee or poop indoors for no reason we ask that you find another sitter please. Excessive barking or whining is an issue with the neighbors so if you know they have a tendency to do either again I apologize I wouldn't be best suited for them. More about me: I have adopted a number of animals over my lifetime and some with special needs and attention. Separation anxiety to hyperactivity and even extreme cases of neglect and abuse. I was training to become a K-9 trainer for police work but struggled with attachment to the animals, I do have more experience than most with dog behavior but not in the extreme! Why I love dog sitting My whole life! I have owned a few different breeds of dogs- Collie, Sheltie, Doberman, Great Dane. Meet my pets Cat- Domestic About my yard I do not have a yard as I am in an apartment however live walking distance to the dog park!

Morgan was absolutely wonderful with my two dogs. One of them is a senior dog and is quite slow and fussy and he was absolutely wonderful with her. He kept them on their regular schedules and took them for walks and to the park to play. He also sent regular pics which was fun to receive. I will be looking to Morgan for all of my dog sitting needs from here on out for sure!
