Professional Dog Mom

Pet care experience

Do you work full time? Do you worry about your pets being home alone for extended hours? I’d love to help, so you don’t have to worry! I provide personalized, one-on-one care for your dog and I pay attention to every need! I make sure your dog is fulfilled mentally and physically, and I promise he/she will come back to you better behaved than he/she was before. With over 18 years of experience training dogs, I’m here to help you have peace of mind! About me: Hi! My name is Monica and I’m a dog trainer and dog walker in the South Bay Area! With over 18 years of experience training and owning dogs, you can be assured that your dog will always be treated like family! Growing up, I had owned dogs all my life, while also taking care of cats and volunteering at a horse stable for 2 years. I trained my own dogs and learned from professional dog trainers while also doing my own research and learning from my experiences. Over the years, I have helped many dog owners with a range of behavior issues, from fear aggression, severe fear and anxiety, over-excitement (e.g. jumping, pulling), and also basic obedience and behavior training. With my extensive experience in dog training, using Balanced Dog Training methods, your dog will get to enjoy structured walks that include training sessions to help your dog behave better and to help you have peace of mind. I love all dogs like they are my own! I treat them like family and if you would like, I’d love to take your dog to dog-friendly breweries, restaurants, and even on hikes! I make sure to use the proper equipment to ensure your dog’s safety and basic needs (dog seatbelts, dog car seat covers, harnesses, slip lead leashes, collapsible doggie water bowls/food bowls, etc.) and I’ll even send you customized updates so you can be a part of your pup’s daytime adventures! What I offer: - Dog walking: I take your dog on a fulfilling, structured walk in your neighborhood 🐕 - Dog sitting in your home: I care for your pup and your home (I care for cats too! 🐱). I offer: 24/7 personal care, around the clock cleaning, aggressive dog/reactive dog handling and training, consistent, structured exercise with training included, dog bathing. If you’d like, I’m down to clean your home too! Just leave me the supplies and I’ll keep your home clean and tidy while you’re gone 😊 - Boarding: I care for your dog in my home and treat them like family! ❤️ I offer: 24/7 personal care, around the clock cleaning, aggressive dog/reactive dog handling and training, consistent, structured exercise with training included, dog bathing. - Drop-in Visits: I stop by your home and give your dog a structured walk/potty break (and some treats and belly rubs ☺️). If you would like me to feed your pets too, please let me know! I’ll be happy to help! Activities: As a firm believer in fulfilling all of your dog’s instinctual needs (exercise, mental stimulation of all senses, reward and affection), I will definitely take the time to stay and play with your dog and much more! (See below) - Hikes: I love hiking, and I love hiking with dogs even more! I’d love to take your dog on a 2-3 hour hike and help your dog burn off excess energy, while also giving him/her tons of mental stimulation! I always use the proper equipment in the car (dog seat cover and seat belts, and have extra harnesses if needed), and I make sure your dog is always on leash to keep your dog and myself safe. Ask me about hikes to learn more! - Games: - “Find it!” - I hide a treat or toy in the yard and have your dog learn to search for it. A great game to activate your dog’s nose and hunting skills - “Chase it!” - I use a toy called a “flirt pole” (looks like a rope fishing pole with a small furry toy on the end) and allow your dog to chase and catch the toy on the end. A great activity for very active dogs and also activates your dog’s hunting instinct - Trips to dog-friendly breweries/restaurants: Taking your dog to fun outings like breweries or restaurants (if dog friendly) is a great way to help your dog be comfortable in all situations, and provides great mental stimulation! I take my personal dog to dog friendly spaces all the time, and he always enjoys his time out and comes home happy and tired! I’d love to treat your dog like family and take them out to enjoy the day. Ask me about trips out to learn more!

A typical day

As a firm believer in fulfilling all of your dog’s instinctual needs (exercise, mental stimulation of all senses, reward and affection), I will definitely take the time to stay and play with your dog! I like to start off with a structured 30-60min walk in your neighborhood or in a nearby park of your choice and then do fun games that activate the hunting instinct in your dog. Some of those games include: - “Find it!” - I hide a treat or toy in the yard and have your dog learn to search for it. A great game to activate your dog’s nose and hunting skills - “Chase it!” - I use a toy called a “flirt pole” (looks like a rope fishing pole with a small furry toy on the end) and allow your dog to chase and catch the toy on the end. A great activity for very active dogs and also activates your dog’s hunting instinct I am also an avid hiker, so if you are interested in me taking your dog to a nice hiking trail for 2-3 hours, please let me know and we can arrange for a fun field trip! Hiking opportunities will be available on Saturdays, pending availability.
