All Dogs Need a Buddy
Pet care experience
I am a patient and loving person that adores hanging out with dogs. I have raised mine since she was 1 (adopted a corgi-jack Russell in Seattle 12 years and she’s traveled the country with me.) I was a dog walker in another life when I lived in Seattle, and I loved getting to know each dogs personality. I am not afraid to meet a dog on their level and play with them, while also enforcing boundaries and rules. Teaching new tricks and walking for a long time with each dog was the main pleasure. I can walk for many miles - which for high energy dogs is great. I am patient with older dogs that need a slower stride and energetic for the younger ones that need to play.

Monica is wonderful! We have 3 very different dogs and she understood and attended to each of their needs during a 5 day stay. She expertly handled our reactive pup and exercised our high energy pup every day! Great sitter, communicative, consistent and professional!

If I am staying with the pet, I will try to accommodate their schedule as much as possible. I give attention to the dogs that need or want it - and I allow dogs to have their space if they want it. Either way I try and adjust to their needs as much as possible. My husband Adam is also available to help me out when needed - but I make sure he’s included in any meet and greets if it seems like the doggos schedule needs a little more attention! I have yet to meet a dog that does not get along with him - he’s got an incredible way with all dogs.

I would like to know any habits they have while walking and if they are afraid of anything. I would also like to know any little habits they have in order to communicate their needs - for example what they do when they need a potty break or a treat!
A typical day
Walking around the neighborhood or going for a longer hike around Discovery Park. Letting them sniff and get their messages from their neighbors. At home I’d give them love and play according to their activity level.

Availability
I am a freelance photographer and artist - which translates to being flexible. I am able to be with the dog for extended periods of time and let them out or go for a walk throughout the day. Every morning I like to go on 3-5 mile walks - having a pup to do that always makes the walks more enjoyable - it’s not only the dogs that need a buddy. ☺️
