Mama Bear Critter Care!

Pet care experience

****IMPORTANT: THIS IS A HOUSE WITH SMALL CHILDREN AND CATS**** I'm Monica and I'm the founder of Mama Bear Critter Care. It's me, Papa Bear and our little critters- 3 children (born 2015, 2017, 2023) and 5 kitties. We accept all animals with all tendencies, personalities and needs as long as they don't interfere with our safety. We take the safety of our critters and yours very seriously and it is our goal here on our fully fenced 5 acre property that your animals find fun and sanctuary, maybe even a new vacation home! We are family focused and able to be active with your critters, if it fits their needs. I have an XXL kennel if needed as well as a S/M one. Babygates are used for safety and hygiene. We look forward to seeing you here at ours with your critters!!

Monica was so great to work with! I’m new to the area and she helped me on short notice in a pinch. She took great care of my 2 pups. She even scooped poops! What a gem she is!

Monica was wonderful with our 3 dogs while we went on our spring break vacation. Sent updates and photos daily. Highly recommend and will book again for our next vacation.

Only positives to say about Monica! She communicates well, is very attentive to our dog, and he never wants to come home after staying with her!

On the fully fenced 5 acre property, it's my in-laws, brother in-law and us. We live in the smaller of two houses, the in-laws in the larger of the two and my brother is in the apartment in the shop. My brother has a dog, as do my in-laws. In regards to these two (one female and one male, both around 70-90 lbs,) no over lap happens with dogs in my care unless specifically requested that I allow interactions. Both dogs are sweet and well trained but sensitive to new dog presence. If you're okay with overlap, I will allow it if you are present when the dogs meet and before you leave your animal(s) in my care. This is just a precaution as they are not my dogs (even though they are family!) I have three steps leading up to my porch. Keep this in mind and let me know if this will be an issue for your pup. It's a one level, fully carpeted small 2 bedroom. Outdoor potty breaks are always fully and actively chaperoned and supervised. Please let me know if they still need a leash. If they don't have good recall, then let's leash.

Information Monica C. would like to know about your pet

I'm a new person and my home is a new place. So, sitting at yours or mine, there are quite a few things I need to know. Does your animal have experience being around other animals and children of all ages? How are they with them? What can I expect when your animal meets my children (May 2023, Sept 2017, May 2015)? My cats, if you're staying here? ** sidenote** my kitties can be quarantined to one (very enjoyable and full access) room and have no overlap with your dogs IF NEEDED** When and what do they eat? Any people food, treats? How much activity do they need? Health concerns? Special needs? Kennel and car trained? Sleeping and potty habits? Written instructions are welcome and more than encouraged. Are there any impairments? Arthritis? Other medical concerns? What are their trigger words for potty, outside, food, play, etc? Please notify me if there's any separation anxiety. Will they bark when I leave the house? Also if there's anxiety or skittishness, I'd love to know so I can be sensitive to it.

A typical day

From morning to night, it's interaction, pets, loves and attentiveness. I do potty breaks first thing in the morning followed by breakfast and then a walk around the property. We love to play fetch with our visiting doggies. Please bring your favorite toys. My son and I spend as much time as we can outside, my husband joining us when he's home. If we're inside watching TV, it's cuddle time!

Petcare for our family is routine with every visiting animal! We wake to happy good mornings, potty break and breakfast. Then it's a walk or two around the property and chuck-it if that's for doggy's thing. I am a stay-at-home-mom and have the ability to do potty breaks, outside playtime for whenever suits your pup. I do need to know, how long can I leave them when I need to run errands? I typically am gone for 1.5 hours or less on weekdays if I need to leave and 4 hours on weekends once. Do they have or need a kennel? Are they car trained? May I bring them with if the errands are that of 30 minutes or less unattended time? Let's cover all scenarios. Please let me know what your pet's schedule is for feeding, activities, potty breaks and wake/bed time.
