With over 20 years of experience, I’ve had the opportunity to care for feathered, finned, scaled, hooves, and fur babies and more! I am at the ready to help with whatever aspect you need to care for your animal babies while you are away. Whether it be walks, cuddles, food, water, potty breaks, play time, and more, it is my pleasure to help out! While you are away, I am also available to help with light chores around your home and yard such as watering plants, mail and package pick up, food prep, and even running errands if so needed. I’ve had a love for animals from an early age and I can’t remember a time in my life when I didn’t have animals of various kinds of my own. I stumbled into housesitting and pet sitting purely by accident when a friend recommended me to watch her landlord’s home when they went on their 4 yearly trips. What an adventure that was with 13 cats, 2 dogs, a koi pond, and a 7,000 square foot house! Since those early days, I’ve had the pleasure to help many other people and animals with whatever needed - no request is too large or too small - and I’m equally comfortable in urban and more rural settings. I generally like to meet potential clients in person to make sure we are mutually a match and I have references available upon request! I look forward to meeting you and your animal babies!

Monica has been taking care of my various cats for about 7 years. When I go out of town, she is who I call. She's 100% reliable and trustworthy and I know my pets are in good hands when I leave. She is consciousness about following all directions, whether it's a complicated medication regime or playing my cats' favorite games. She texts me updates on how they doing, how much food they're eating, bathroom habits etc. She's watered my plants and updated me when packages arrive. During a particularly stressful situation while I was out of town, Monica went above and beyond to help make sure my house and pets were safe. I was so relieved to have her there to help while I was gone. I know she has done the same for other people too. Whenever I hear of someone saying they need a pet sitter or a house sitter, I think of Monica. I couldn't recommend her enough!!
Monica Burkner asked us to provide information and recommendations about the Pet Sitting and House Sitting she has done for us. She has been our “go-to” lady since 2008. Monica primarily does House Sitting for us, as most of our travels have allowed us to take our dog with us. When that doesn't work, Monica looks after our dog while staying in our home. He is always excited to see her and does well in our absence. The yard and his bed and things are always neat and clean when we return. It is hard to be specific about what happens in one’s absence or what one’s dog is thinking, but it clearly has been a totally satisfactory experience for everyone. When we return, our place feels and looks like we never left. There is no discomfort in her having our keys and access to our home. We find her resourceful, attentive to detail and completely honest and dependable. She is a real animal person and lovingly cares for them. We have used her for several months out of every year since 2008 and continue to do so. We recommend Monica without reservation. Our dog would too, if he could talk.
Monica is a fantastic pet sitter!! She has watched our two cats & dog several times. Our cats can be difficult to get inside in the evening but they show up from hiding spots when they hear her voice. We had an older dog with special needs that she tenderly took care of. We now have a greyhound mix puppy & they can be tricky with food & walks. No problem for Monica! She leaves great notes & knows how to contact us using messenger if we are out of the country. Some people aren’t very techy & I get anxious not knowing how our fur babies are doing. Also we do not like people in our home but we completely trust Monica not to go through our things. Monica loves animals, is competent & trustworthy and I whole heartedly recommend her!
Monica is extremely responsible and always provides the best care to our pets. She goes above and beyond in her care and takes the time to get to know you and your dog. She notes any special needs, likes and or dislikes each pet may have, and works that into her routine for your pets. Monica has taken care of our pets for 8+ years and I would not anyone else taking care of them when we are not home. She is loving, caring and truly cares about our pets like they are her own.
