Looking for a dog friend
Pet care experience
I never used to think of dogs until my girlfriend got one. Then I absolutely fell in love with them! We have a cavalier king Charles (Santi) and he has the cutest personality ever. My girlfriend is away for medical school in Texas so I don’t get to see Santi as much and I miss him. I am looking to temporarily replace the hole his absence has left in my heart.

Make sure they always eating food and drinking water and that they are not showing any weird signs that may indicate that they aren’t healthy. Taking them on nice long walks and playing with them regularly throughout the day so they don’t get bored.

I would check health issues or allergies, favorite toys (like balls, squeeze toys, etc), favorite activities, and things that make them aggravated. Some dogs especially rescue ones are a little more sensitive so I would definitely want to keep them safe and know about any triggers. I had one dog that would always run when given the chance so couldn’t let then off the leash. Another issue is coyotes. I would be super super careful especially with a small dog not to let them roam around to make sure theyre always safe.
A typical day
I love to take regular walks on my own. I live near Embarcadero near rincon dog park and it’s on of my favorite places to pass because I always see dogs having a ton of fun there. I would take them there and make sure they are safe and can play with the other dogs. Another fun idea is to walk around the mission especially mission Dolores and play fetch on the hills. They usually get a real kick out of running up and down the hills chasing a ball or frisbee. When we get back home they can play with a mind toy to help keep them sharp.

I like to take regular walks with the dogs I am caring for. Where I live there’s plenty of dog parks. There’s also a pet washing station in my building so it’s convenient.
