Custom Prices, Scheduling, & Care!

Pet care experience

My pronouns are they/them and I'm thrilled for your interest in my business! I aim for custom pricing, but usually, Rover prices hit the nail on the head. I've been dog walking for over 2 years, I've had 3 different people who have been consistent customers over the course of my business. I use a variety of templates in order to reach the needs of everyone. I offer simplistic, detailed, or thorough reports (I'm more than happy to send examples if requested). I own a green cheeked conure (Cora), a budgie (Kauri), a chocolate york cat (Munchkin), a lavender corn snake (Orchid) and two Guinea pigs (Bean and Domi). I've cared for Cora and Kauri for 2 years, Munchkin for about a year and a half, Orchid for 2 years, and the guinea pigs for 2-3 years (it is currently April 2024 so this time frame will change over time). During summer months or generally warmer weather, I provide water to your pets during walks. I always bring backup doggy bags. I lock doors once the walk starts, and directly after leaving your residence.

I have known Mochi personally as both friend and neighbor for five years. Throughout that time of watching their growth and development, one thing has never faltered, their passion for caring for all types of animals. They've had an interest in both exotic and the typical domesticated pets with keen research in care for any animal they have pet sitter or personally adopted. Mochi is eager to learn each animals quirks and personality to best care for it- not just typical 'care-sheet' needs- providing a well rounded individualistic approach to each animal they care for. Mochi's priorities are what's best for the owner and animal in unison and understands each dog/animal has a unique personality that may require different approaches, in turn, effortlessly makes accomodations.

Safety, trust & environment

I am huge on communication, and my reports are baseline: detailed customized: simplistic, detailed, or thorough. I ensure that the safety of the pets I care for is above everything else. I look out and avoid anything your pet might go towards during walks that's unsafe or will startle them (dogs off-leash, cats, birds, squirrels, glass, cars, and food or other substances on the ground). During all services I'm very respectful of the home and I make sure to have all the information beforehand so I can give the proper care to the pets I'm checking on. Walks require very little information whilst drop-ins and pet sitting need much more.

Information Mochi D. would like to know about your pet

I need to know if your pet has any special needs such as a specific medication that needs to be mixed with food or a topical ointment they need rubbed on a wounded area. I can help with direct oral medication ONLY for cats unless you're a repeat customer and your pet isn't aggressive. I always have an array of questions for each service I provide. These will be sent as a quick Google form. Walks need the least information; baseline questions are: ● Is your dog anxious around people or other animals that can lead them towards aggressive behaviors? ● Can I use your restroom? ● Which type of report would you prefer? (Simplistic, detailed, or thorough?) ● Treats? If these aren't answered I assume these details: dog is safe, there hasn't been issues for previous walkers, don't use the bathroom there without clear answer, prepare for detailed report, and assume there aren't treats. All other services need this info and more.

A typical day

[For walks, ps. There's sections with pet sitting and pet drop-ins below] I enter your residence and put the harness and leash on your dog. I then lock the door behind me as I look at the routes I can walk them. If I spent some time walking from the bus to your residence, I would use that information to tell me more of your environment, and I avoid any routes I've seen any dangers. I note down bathroom time spent, including specific time frames. I note the amount of time your dog spent sniffing or pausing the walk. I specify each time I cross the street as well as the route I take. All of this is in the detailed report, thorough would include tracking the number of steps I take during the walk to reflect your pets' distance traveled as well as adding specific street names. During walks, I pause when the dog rushes onward, and I provide affection during times I take a quick break to write something down. Times where I enter your residence and finish the report while inside I give your pet attention as well as making sure I put things back (provided doggy bags, your pets harness, and leash). I take photos at the end. If treats are available, I use them. Otherwise, I make little noises to attempt to get your doggo to look into the camera. [For drop-ins] Typically, for drop-ins, I will play with the pet(s) and give them water and the specified food. I give treats to take pictures and if you specify slight training for them (like tricks or helping with negative behavioral patterns). If you have multiple pets, I add 30 minutes per extra pet. I use provided toys for playtime as well as giving affection if/when they're comfortable with me. For drop-ins, there are times that I will walk any pets that need it, but I mainly aim for dogs to use the bathroom outdoors. (Other pets tend to have litter boxes or something similar) I write down and keep track of everything I do as well as your pet's behaviors. [For pet sittings] Pet sitting your pet(s) would receive the same care as drop-ins but would have a lot more time with me. This would be based on how much time you'd like me to spend in your residence. This would include if you'd like me to visit a couple of times a day rather than staying for the whole duration. I provide as many walks as needed for your pet(s). Reports are provided as 2 different types, either drop-in type reports (but I'd make it more simplistic dependent on time spent in your residence) and walk reports, which would be the same as listed above in the walk section.
