Pet care experience
Hey there, my name is Missy! I moved to the Milwaukee area just a couple years ago and currently live in Shorewood with my husband and cat, Sparkles. I grew up always having 2-3 pets in the home and have been a reliable pet/house-sitter since I was in high school. When time allows, I also enjoy volunteering to foster pets in need with the WI Humane Society. Currently I am able to offer services in your home such as petsitting, dog (or cat?!) walking, and drop-ins. Most of my experience is with cats and dogs, but over the years I have also owned/worked with hamsters, guinea pigs, and bearded dragons, and I always love the opportunity to learn about different kinds of pets. I truly just love animals of all kinds and getting to know their different personalities.

Missy was an amazing sitter for our pets while my husband and I were on a short getaway. She was was awesome to our dog and 2 cats, and we can tell she is a true animal lover. I felt completely at ease knowing she would take care of our animals as she would her own. She is very reliable, quick to respond, and sent plenty of updates. Our dog gets anxious a lot and she was extra attentive to him by giving him plenty of exercise and attention which helped him a lot!

I know how important it can be to make sure your pets are in good care while you’re away, so I'm very open with communication. During house sits I send daily updates with pictures and GPS route maps when going on walks. I am first aid/CPR certified for dogs to help me be prepared for any emergencies. I also have some experience with administering medications and working with pets with special needs.

It is vital that all pets are up to date on necessary vaccinations. It is also important for me to be aware of any history of aggression as well as how your pets responds to new people in their home and any unique quirks they have. The more information you can provide me about how your dog behaves in different situations will help to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone! Currently I use an online questionnaire to gather all this information and require an in-person meet and greet before confirming any bookings. If there are commands or training programs you are working on with your pets, I like to know about it so I can make sure I continue helping them practice their good manners even when you’re not around!
A typical day
I love to go on long walks and have no problem incorporating your dog's daily exercise needs into my own routine. With your permission, I'd love to take your dog with me to explore the many trails and parks that Milwaukee has to offer.

Outside of pet care I own a cleaning business with my husband, giving me lots of flexibility to work around you and your pets' schedule! For petsitting, this means I can provide check-ins/potty breaks every 4 hours or so.
