I have been around animals my entire life. I have experience with all sizes and breeds and am comfortable caring for pets with special needs. Growing up, my family had dogs, small mammals (rats, gerbils, guinea pigs) and rescued numerous cats, including a pair with a disability called Cerebellar Hypoplasia. Through college, I lived with roommates with dogs and helped care for them as needed, including walking, feeding, and playtime. In late 2021, my partner and I adopted a dog of our own - a high energy, aggressively affectionate Husky mix. We adopted our second dog, another Husky mix, in 2022. Between the two of them and my regular clients, I have learned a great deal about dog behavior, most notably generalized and separation anxiety, leash reactivity, resource guarding behavior towards people and other dogs, and fear-free, force-free training methods. I also volunteer regularly with Lost Dog and Cat Rescue Foundation. You can often find me walking and taking profile photos for dogs after work, writing up bios for adoptable dogs, and helping to run the organization's social media. I am available most weekends and evenings. My job is flexible and permanently remote, so I am able to care for your pet periodically during the work week as well, depending on my meetings schedule that week. Your pet will be my priority. They will have all needs met (with plenty of snuggles, of course!). I am happy to continue to reinforce any training your family is working on using fear-free, force-free training methods only.
