College instructor/Dog lover

Pet care experience

Growing up I always had dogs and cats! It wasn’t until 5 years ago that I became a dog LOVER though. I had taken and trained a german shepherd to doggy training school and have since enacted this training in teaching my two australian shepherds, plus my moms two as well! This includes sit, lay down, spin, jump, back up, “hide”(paw over nose), shake, shake with other paw, roll over, general walking skills, and more! If I’m watching your dog, I might be teaching them at least one thing per visit!

Miranda is super good with dogs. She has a handicap dog that she purchased from breeder when it was born. She was able to pick from litter and the minute she saw the dog she instantly fell in love. The dog is almost 2 and they are the beat of buds. Miranda also dog sits our four dogs when needed. She plays with them, Walks them, feeds them but most importantly she loves on them. Miranda would be a good choice to dog sit or walk.

She’s a great caregiver, super friendly and patient with dogs. From my experience, the dogs are always excited to see her as they’ve grown fond to love her. Miranda is also very informed about the basic necessities a dog needs and their personality traits. A dog whisperer if you will ;) I promise you, she will take very great care of your puppy/dog. I recommend her greatly!

Safety, trust & environment

In my own home, I don’t have a fenced in yard so this has required me to take my two australian shepherds out on daily walks, hikes, runs, etc! We take about two walks a day, or one hike depending on the day. In addition, my one dog (Sonny) has a club foot which makes him special needs and require further care than most. This requires that I am patient with him and assess his needs first before expecting him to do something. I also take both of my dogs out on leash once an hour/every other hour to go potty. Regardless, I am always training my dogs something new to keep their brain moving so if I am taking care of your pet, it is likely I will teach them something new/fun, along with tons of pets!

Information Miranda M. would like to know about your pet

Let me know if your dog is special needs in anyway and what would be the best course of action to accommodate. If they have a hurt foot, I will be more patient with them on walks to make sure they’re comfortable. Also, if your dog is reactive to new people, I will patiently wait for them to warm up to me before expecting them to trust me!

A typical day

I love teaching dogs new tricks! With my first dog being special needs and a bit more “low-energy” I learned the importance of keeping a dog mentally stimulated. This includes teaching the dog tricks, or having them “sniff out” treats like they’re playing hide and seek. As for walks, I love sight-seeing so walking in new places every time is fun!

As of current, I am waiting to begin work as a college instructor in August. I figured why not, while I wait, make some extra cash doing something I love: anything involving dogs! Upon school time, I will be eligible for dog walks still, if needed, as I instruct in the morning until 9:30AM M-Th and can come anytime after. :)
