Vet Professional, animal lover

Pet care experience

Hi there! I am a veterinary assistant with years of companion animal & pocket pet experience. I love pets of all ages, sizes and temperaments. I have training in animal CPR, diets and handling. I have worked in day and emergency practice hospitals, as well as emergency clinics and the Southern Mississippi and Oklahoma Humane Societies. Currently, I have my own personal dogs, a rescue kitten, and my partner and I hospice foster for a local rescue. I love long walks to the park with my own furry friends, throwing the ball and or frisbee, or just casually strolling our lovely neighborhood. Let’s go for a walk and sniff all the flowers, or toss the ball a little. I’m always here for your fur kid. At-home appointments range from walks and park time, easy hikes around the ABQ area, medication dosing and administration, at-home veterinary treatments (subcutaneous fluid treatments, for example), exercise plans for pets losing weight, puppy playtime and training reinforcement, and more. With more of us returning to normal job schedules, send me a message and let’s see if an at-home veterinary assistant or pet sitter/walker is what your furry kid needs. I am currently a full-time traveling animal nurse. Please look at my schedule and book the best times and days for you and your pet. Working outside of the traditional hospital roles allows me to make deeper connections with my clients (who have become like family) and your pets (who become my friends). With experience in all aspects of care, I can medicate, feed, walk, exercise and work closely with your established veterinary team to ensure your pet is receiving the proper care and aftercare at home, including post-surgical check-in visits. I have moved out of the hospital/clinic setting and am offering walking, sitting and at-home care full-time for my central New Mexico clients! **30-Minute Drop-In Visits: If you're looking for medication administration, on-property playtime or cuddle check-ins, grabbing the mail, a quick game of fetch or a drop-off/pick-up from daycare, drop-in visits are for you! **30-Minute Walk: Are you looking for a quick walk for your kid in the middle of the day? Maybe a walk to your local park for some fetch, get that midday energy out? 30-Minute Walks are for you! **House/Pet Sitting Overnight: For clients who are heading out of town and would rather their furry kiddos stay home and be comfortable in their own environment. House/Pet sitting includes your out-of-town chores (trash, mail, watering of plants/yard), adhering to you pet's normal schedule to keep anxiety down, and all the cuddles they can handle. With client references on Rover and outside of the platform, I work daily to build trust with my clients and their pets. I am Fear Free handling certified, companion animal CPR certified and still volunteer my time in clinic to keep my skills sharp. ** Please remember that Rover takes 20% from a sitter/walker/etc.'s booking. Rover sitters are working to keep prices fair while also maintaining a livable wage. **

Miranda was an immediate hit with our dogs. Miranda was incredibly personable with us and made us feel like she would take care of our home, our dogs and their needs. We have never used a house/dog sitter before and we’re incredibly happy with the care, updates and communication with Miranda. We even came home to a plate of fresh banana bread. We will recommend Miranda and we will use her again in the future.

We highly recommend Miranda for a pet caregiver. She is a very loving , compassionate, and great lover of animals. Our dogs love her and in addition to regular care she has been providing some special at-home services for one of our dogs . We trust her wholeheartedly and would never hesitate to refer her to our family and friends

Information Miranda L. would like to know about your pet

**Human and veterinary professionals, first responders, military & teachers - 10% off every service, every time** Send me a message and let’s talk about your pet’s needs, wants and what you’re looking for in a sitter/walker or at-home care professional. With expierence in general, shelter and emergency medicine, many conditions can be safely and effectively monitored at home, taking stress away from you and your family, and allowing you to have more free time (and fun time) with your pet.

A typical day

Walks, training games, fetch, head scratches, you name it. Every pet has their own routine and language, and getting to know them on a personal level means we can personalize visit specific to your furry kid’s wants. Longer walks? Splash pad in the backyard? Pup-Cup at Starbucks? As a traveling pet nurse, we can shape your pets day around their desires, and with my life partner Jason (many small pets including cats and pocket-sized animals LOVE him), the sky is the limit.
