Fun, experienced animal-lover!

Pet care experience

I am a life-long lover of animals. For as long as I can remember, I am the person all of my friends, family members, and acquaintances rely on to take care of their pets when they are unable. I have experience taking care of dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, ferrets, and the occasional rat, mouse, or gerbil. I am proud to say that I also have experience taking care of pets who require extra special attention due to age and/or have special medical needs. My dog, Zain, was with us until she was almost 19 years old. She was a Black Lab mix. She had cancer, arthritis, and other minor ailments. She ate special food that was prescribed by her vet and was on several medications. I am proud to say that whenever people met her, they were always shocked at how young she looked and acted. Rest assured that if you have an older pet, I can empathize and am happy to take care of them. Before my recent move to Houston I watched two Schipperkes on a regular basis. Jazzi (she played the big sister role of the two) has a history of seizures. She was on special medications that had to be given on a strict schedule. When Jazzi went into a seizure, I knew exactly what her owner does in detail and I replicated that as requested. Jazzi was always safe with me because I made sure to keep a special eye on her. She quickly learned to trust me and warn me when she felt a seizure coming on. I provide a free phone consultation (or we can meet at a pet-friendly coffee shop if you prefer) to new customers where I am happy to provide references, answer any questions you may have, and basically get to know you, your pet and your needs.

Miranda is very caring with our dogs. We have an elderly dog that needs extra care. We also have a small dog that is very afraid of strangers. Miranda came to our home twice before our trip so our dog could get to know her better before we were gone for a week. We feel very comfortable leaving our dogs with her and know they are in good hands.

Miranda boarded my dog at her house for ~2 weeks and did an awesome job! She sent lots of updates and pictures, and gave my dog lots of care, love, and attention. I would definitely use her again in the future.

I have known Miranda for close to 20 years and I have always said there is no one in this world that loves animals more than her. Her dog in college was like her baby. She falls in love with every dog she crosses paths with and they love her as much. Miranda has a heart of gold and pets can sense that!

Miranda is a very experienced, patient, loving pet sitter. You can trust her to take care of your babies :) One of my babies had seizures and Miranda would give my dog the medications as prescribed. My dogs loved having Miranda stay in my home while I traveled :)

Information Miranda B. would like to know about your pet

How old is your pet? Are they on any medications and what are the instructions? Does your pet have a favorite toy they just love to play with? Does your pet like to lounge, play hard or a bit of each? What do I need to know about your pet that will help me make sure they have a pleasant time while I'm taking care of them?

A typical day

There is a jog/walk path that run through my subdivision in Friendswood. There is also a dog park close-by that is divided into halves: one half for small dogs and the other for larger dogs. We also have a pool in the back yard where your dog is welcome to swim and cool off under my supervision. It is up to you, the pet owner if, where and how often you would like your pet to go on outdoor excursions. If your dog enjoys playing fetch or has a special toy they like to play tug-of-war with, I'm happy to oblige. If you prefer your dog to play indoors because of our increasing heat this time of year, we can always play inside the cool house. Whatever makes your pet feel at home and assures they have fun, let me know and we will make sure that happens.
