Growing up, my mum ran a dog home boarding business of which I was extremely involved in, so it's safe to say I have a bountiful cache of experience with pet care, ranging across all breeds, ages and temperaments. I have had both dogs and cats my whole life, pretty much all of which have been rescues as my family and I are suckers for the underdog (literally). I've also dog sat for family and friends frequently as I got a bit older. Most recently, my friend's energetic phantom poodle puppy and her sweetheart black lab. I have two of my own pups at home living with my parents in Devon who I miss dearly whilst away at Uni, and have spent my whole life surrounded by a variety of animals. One of my gorgeous girls at home is a stray rescued from Romania, and during her time before being rescued experienced a lot of trauma that has shaped her into an extremely nervous and wary dog, so I do not shy away from and have a good knowledge of dealing with even the most timid types. The other is a Chihuahua cross Jack Russell, who was rescued with a multitude of health issues, one being diabetes which requires twice daily injections of insulin. Because of this, I'm very confident with administering medication, whether it be oral or injections, after being trained in doing so by the Vet. Aside from my experience, I just absolutely adore animals and you can guarantee your pets will be doted upon during your time away! This summer I will be furthering my experience, as I am volunteering in a stray dog shelter in Costa Rica (I just can't get enough of them).
