Clean & huge space, home full time.

Pet care experience

I take dog sitting to heart. It is a delicate task just like watching children. I provide full-time care and consider each pet client as part of the family. When I was a teenager, I lived with my aunt and uncle, and one night they brought home a rat terrier for Christmas. She slept in my arms and my heart just melted—she was so tiny and dependent on others for life. I can honestly say that caring for her made me a better human. I was a full-time student then and learned quickly how to manage my time by coming home for her potty breaks when it was just me and her at home during summer break and adhering to her usual schedule so that she felt safe. Consistent schedules are so important for dogs. I stay at home full time, but need to do quick errands once in awhile. Routine shows the dog that I will return and that being alone is alright. I adhere to this philosophy for my own dogs now, 2 Rhodesian Ridgebacks and an Egyptian Pharaoh Hound, as well as for the dogs I care for on Rover. I get to know your dogs through you and then make sure I stick to their fixed schedule for feeding, walking, playtime, leaving the house and coming home, etc. I have always loved dogs. I’m the kind of person who will cry when watching movies about dogs because they are so loyal and give unconditional love, and it really affects me to see something negative happen to them, even if it is just in the movie! I spend my free time volunteering at the shelter and attending fundraising events to help in whatever way I can. I take my pet care responsibilities very seriously. I am certified in Pet CPR, as well as First Aid and Care from PetTech with plans to become a master instructor in the future. I choose to spend my free time with pups and I want to be prepared for any scenario so you can relax knowing they are happy, healthy, and secure when in my care! My personal life has recently changed to where I have become a stay-at-home wife so I have the time and flexibility to pet sit seven days a week. I am an active person who exercises regularly and has enough energy to take multiple dogs for walks at once, when it’s cool enough outside. Kindness and reliability are very important to me. Kindness is the trait I value the most about myself and take the time to nurture. In short, I treat others how I would like to be treated, and I include dogs in this statement! Reliability is key in owning your own business. I will always keep my Rover calendar up to date and you have my word that I will show up on time, ready to work. Lastly, I have a calm demeanor that helps dogs relax. They can sense tense energy and I do everything I can to make sure they feel comfortable in my care. When first meeting them, I approach them from the side, letting them smell my hand and come to me. I might have a treat or two to show them I am friendly and I take whatever time they need to get used to my presence. *If this is your first booking with me on Rover, use code MILAK74350 to get $20 off! http://www.rover.com/sit/milak74350

I can’t thank Mila enough! She is so wonderful with our pups! She goes out of her way to show her love and takes all the stress away from us when we have to travel! She has been our first choice the last 4 times we needed a sitter! Thank you again Mila!

This is the second time my pups have been with Mila. There are not enough words to express my gratitude - the pictures and videos she sends every day kept me sane while away from my dogs. I know they are in great hands when they are with her! Thank you Mila!

Information Mila S. would like to know about your pet

It can be stressful to board your pet. If you have any questions about how I make my home your pet’s home away from home, please reach out. Also please let me know your dog’s temperament, breed, personality quirks, usual feeding schedule, usual activity level, medication needs, and anything else you think I’d need to know to provide the best care.

A typical day

I offer dog sitting and boarding service with free pick-ups and drop-offs within 15 miles for stays of 2 nights or more. My home is perfect for pet care. I live with my husband and three friendly dogs in a big house and a yard totaling over 0.6 acres. The doors, fence, and furniture have been dog proofed and the fenced yard is huge and safe. We often take strolls around the yard together due to its generous size and the dogs love all the extra space to run around. I do not have children so if your dog has a hard time with kids, rest assured that won’t be a problem here. Our time together will be a mix of walking, running around the yard, or exploring the trails behind my house when it’s cool enough. We will end our time with relaxation, play, and cuddles. Send me a message, I can’t wait to meet you!
