Pet care experience
I’ve spent the majority of my life caring for my own and other’s animals. I’ve owned and worked with most livestock (minus birds but I am not opposed!), dogs, cats, and smaller creatures like lizards and guinea pigs. I have a medical background and experience administering medications, including necessary injections, but more or less discernment on when to get your vet involved if necessary. After moving across the country a handful of times, I currently have none of my own pets and have a ton of love to give while saving up for grad school (I’ve taken some time off since 2018 to finish school and move, but have pet sat outside of Rover thru this period!). I would love to chat with you and see your pet’s needs and how I can best fit them so we’re all happy while you’re out of town.
Reviews
Mikenna was great! She took excellent care of my very sociable senior cat while my housemate and I were both out of town. She was communicative and proactive about making sure she had the info she needed. I'd definitely reach out again!
Mikenna was absolutely wonderful! After meeting with her we knew our dogs were in good hands. She was so attentive to our boys who aren’t always easy to handle. She sent so many photo updates so we always felt in the loop and our boys were happy as can be. To top it all off she left our house cleaner than it’s ever been. We can’t wait to have her sit for us again!
Mike a is a refreshingly mature and responsible person who is easy to communicate with. I had no worries while she took care of my dog and home.
Mikenna stayed at our house and watched our 2 dogs for 5 nights. Mikenna’s communication was excellent and we received a lot of updates and adorable photos throughout our trip. She left our house spotless and our pups received a lot of attention. We couldn’t be happier with the care provided by Mikenna and hope we can use her again!

In your home, I am happy to maintain your daily schedules for your pets. Daily walks/exercise, bringing the mail in, taking trash/recycling bins out, at least one light on in the property in the evenings, all animal waste will be disposed of daily and before departure. If overnights are requested, I will happily wash all linens, towels, and dishes. I am pretty clean to begin with but appreciate leaving a space cleaner than I found it. And if there are any special requests you have, let me know! I’m here to accommodate.

Information Mikenna Y. would like to know about your pet
I'd love to know your dog's name, age, and a little bit of personality background on them (energy level, sociability, do they like to cuddle or be in the same space?, etc..) No breed preferences, all sizes and shapes welcome. If there are any special medical issues please let me know and I will determine if we can make it work.
A typical day
For reactive animals, I prefer to find solitary space to play (indoor or outdoor) with toys/treats. There’s a couple of great athletic field spaces in Queen Anne that are often empty throughout the afternoons that are wonderful. For non reactive animals, Edmonds dog park is a ton of fun. I live near Discovery and am not a stranger to all the local Seattle parks. There’s also great trails on Cougar Mountain for leashes dogs that are a blast to tackle for a half day. I’m also happy to play indoors if that’s what your pet needs that day. For either type, I love photographing your pets. All animals really! So if they’re trusting of me, I’ll snap a couple of cute pics and leave you some prints if I get any good ones. It’s a great way to remember all the sweet babies I’ve met.

I work a hybrid role as a project manager, so I am usually out the door between 8-8:30a M-F. I’m back home before 3 and spend the rest of the day typically working from home sans any evening plans. I am up well before 8a to take care of any/all pet care (including walks), and will be back by 3p at the latest. Any afternoon plans will be scheduled so pet care is done and your animal isn’t at all lonely. I am happy to do overnights. Weekends are wide open with scheduled notice.
